Reviews for Thai Orchid in Rensselaer, NY
My mind is blown!!! Thai Orchid is a very unassuming looking spot, my boyfriend and I passed by it a few times on our walks, and... I am SO glad we finally stopped in. We so impressed by the calamari ($7!!!) which was fresh and fried to perfection. I orderedthe stir fried Thai Orchid bamboo with duck, and my boyfriend ordered the Siam chicken. The presentation was beautiful, theserving size was generous, and it was beyond delicious! So excited to come back and try more dishes, and I?m definitely tellingall my friends about this place! This is my favorite go-to Thai restaurant in the capital region. The service was excellent. The server was very accommodating... and kind. The atmosphere felt very comfortable as well. It didn?t take long for the food to arrive. The food was next level.I?ve had many from their menu and not one has not been amazing. I?ve had a lot of Thai food, but this restaurant is legit. I'm rather fond of Pad Thai, but since my go-to Thai place in Albany closed several years ago I haven't been able to find a... place that makes it quite the way I like it (too sweet, too dry, too bland, etc.) Then I found out about this little place inRensselaer, read the reviews, and finally got down there to try it. THIS IS THE PAD THAI I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR. I'm hoping it'salways this good, because I was really excited. I'm no expert on Thai cuisine, but I know what I like and I haven't had it for along time and this was it. Will definitely be back! Read more
I went to Thai Orchid for the first time as a recommendation of a friend. The waiter was so helpful and answered many of my... questions. I frequent Thai restaurants but this time, I was looking for a more unique experience as my friend mentioned thisrestaurant had a few dishes more related to his native land, Burma. So, I was met with some options and finally settled on theKao Soi. It was delicious! The way I'd describe it is as a curry soup with noodles and veggies, so good. We also had someappetizers which were delicious, the Samosas (which were surprisingly similar to Samosas you'd get from an Indian restaurant). The ambiance in the restaurant was nice and we had the entire place to ourselves. The waiter was attentive to our needs but alsogave us privacy so that we could chat and catch up. Read more
Best Thai food in Albany and possibly all of NY! The food is flavorful, the portions are large, and the prices are incredibly... reasonable. If you?ve ever had a whole fried fish from a Thai place, well get ready to be blown away. Just order the whole friedfish and tell them the level of spiciness you want and they?ll take it from there. Absolutely incredible and unlike anything I?dtried before. Also, save room for dessert because their fried iced cream is so dang good. Come here now and come hungry! Read more
