Lived in Truckee for a long time and used to go to Mountain Mikes after softball. Good pizza. Tried this one on Keystone. Will... never go back. Pizza dough was too chewy, sauce wasn't very good. What a disappointment. Got large that cost $31.39. I getpizza once every 2 months, so back to Round Table. Read more
We haven't been to a Mountain Mike's Pizza in at least 20 years. Thought we'd try the new store on 5th & Keystone. Oh my, we had... THE BEST pizza! The crust was crispy, the toppings were thick and cooked to perfection, the pizza was delicious. The staff waswelcoming, helpful when we asked for assistance in ordering, the pizza was delivered to our table HOT! We loved it!! We've founda favorite pizza place all over again. On a recommendation from a friend, who now that I think about it, doesn't always give good recommendations, I visited a new... Mountain Mike's Pizza on Keystone and 5th. Middle of the road can be a good place when value is factored in. Unfortunately thepizza I ordered was not up to my standard. It was delivered to my table already cooled. The thick crust was unremarkable. Thetoppings while generous were at best pedestrian (I ordered the meat lovers pizza to sample a broad cross section of theavailable meats). On the positive side of the ledger. The staff were attentive and plentiful. The restaurant, clean andcomfortable. Bonus! I caught the tail-end of the lunch buffet, but regardless, I was disappointed. My opinion is jaded, as I'm accustomed to the bay... area locations. In the past, I've chowed down on the last-minute lunch buffet slices at other Mountain Mike's that were FARsuperior to the leathery, shriveled, tasteless slices that were TOTALLY cheated of their usual copious amounts of toppingshere. I've eaten slices that were sitting on my kitchen counter for two days straight that were superior in both texture andtaste. Overall, I think that the quality needs to be improved so as to at least *attempt* to rise up to their Californialocations. I am giving the extra two stars because the bathroom was clean, the employees didn't rush us (but they didn't offerto make any fresh pizzas either, as I'm also kind of used to, no matter how late in the buffet window), and my daughter won theclaw machine on the first try, because their machines aren't rigged. OMG. I received a welcome to the neighborhood coupon. This was mid afternoon. The Pizza is AWESOME!. There are T.V.s for Sports.... Arcade games. Morgan the manager is Super Cool. Nice. Laid back atmosphere. Looks like fun for football and kid friendly. ICAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T TRY IT BEFORE.!!! ITS ALL GOOD HERE. The ingredients are fresh and very tasty. The beer is ice cold.
