Our waiter was amazing for our going away party for our coworker. I believe his name was Jason, very young with a long ponytail.... He made the experience and was unbelievably kind. Food was good but have had better steak. Next time I'll get the special causeit looked amazing! Read more

I had a surprise dinner for my mothers 87th birthday and they made it so easy and special. Dinner for nine was well done with... great service. All the staff made it memorable and our meals were great. I highly recommend this as a gathering place forcelebration. Read more

If you come, bring an empty stomach. Between bread and butter, salad, soup, beans, "first course" (ours was chicken), French... fries, your chosen entree and dessert, there's no way to leave hungry. The food overall is quite good, served family style. Wewere sat at a long table with two other parties - good way to get to know some new people. Read more

Definitely a Gem of a restaurant in Reno, been around since 1967 and there is good reason. Reserve ahead or might get some... seats at the bar where the friendly staff will help you choose a delicious meal. The outside seemed a bit sketchy but onceinside we thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and meal. Read more

Only the German food place is as good as this Basque place, where the food just does not stop coming. While it may like culinary... sophistication Louis' is wonderful fare, wholesome and of such friendly service as to warrant it's status as a Reno institution.Family style rocks -- forget the pretense of others, go for the fun and the best! I was in Reno for an event but I remembered that this place was on my list of Basque places to check out in the west. This place... did not disappoint. The lunch portions are good and the atmosphere is local and friendly. The highlight was definitely thePicon punch which is the perfect aperitif-dry, bitter and refreshing! Not sweet at all, which is good in my book. If you haveBasque roots, like I do, you’ll want to check it out for the historical and heritage elements. Even if you’re not Basque, you should still check it out! Also try the kalimotxo (best one I’ve had since my days in the Basque Country) and thewinnemucca coffee, which packs a strong, black licorice infused tasty punch. Read more

This place is 100% for the experience and not much else. The appetizer meals were very standard and nothing special. The entrees... were a lot better, especially the oxtail and sirloin steak. The staff was friendly and helpful. A great place to come for afamily style meal and get-together. Definitely a spot to check out if you are looking for the Basque experience. Read more

Came here while on a work trip in Reno. The restaurant is family style seating, so being by myself I was placed at a table with... people I didn't know. The food was amazing, I had the oxtail stew and HIGHLY reccomend it. The service was great, and the peopleI met at my table were friendly and made for a wonderful evening. This is definitely added to my list of places to visit anytimeI'm in Reno! For any other single travelers, if you're looking for a fun experience with unique food and meeting new people, this is for you! Read more
