Highly recommend the Beef Wellington appetizer. The seared scallops risotto was on point. We got the dinner special which was... filet mignon crab and prawns which everything on the platter was delicious. The service was well above average from anywhereelse you would get in Reno. When you first walk in your greeted promptly! The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. We got seated right away we did have a... reservation. The staff was amazing. She was so attentive and sweet and checked on us a good amount of times! She was funny andbubbly and made our experience even better! We had the blackened salmon which was to die for! My husband had the macadamiacrusted sea bass I stole a few bites and he asked me if I wanted to switch cause omg mouth watering greatness I wish I gotpictures but I was so hungry! I had the raspberry lemondrop martini which was really good my husband had the vanilla old fashionand it smells so sweet but has the perfect taste. Had brunch today, 9 of us. Do not get the veggie skillet, terrible. The sausage skillet was okay, but the toast was pathetic. ... I hate to complain but it was disappointing to say the least. Went there on a Wednesday night. It was busy so we sat at the bar. Bar tenders were friendly but not able to give good service.... Despite sitting direclty in front of their terminal it took quite a while to get served and an hour to get our food. Most of thefood was ok, not great, just ok. However...I ordered the simplest thing on the menu- a cheese burger, cooked to medium. Turnsout the cook doesn't understand medium (see other reviews stating the same). it was so over cooked I litterally couldn't chewthe last 1/4. I told the bar tender when It came that it was not right. Since they were so busy, rather than replacing the shoeleather burger they offered to have a free one made, medium rare, to go. Since i would either wait another 30 minutes for a newburger or go home without eating, I said ok. I also asked for condiments because the burger comes with none and was toodesiccated to eat without. That took almost 10 minutes. After we were done eating, I paid for the food and still had to wait awhile for the burger I wasn't going to eat that night. Oh well, at least I would have something for lunch the next day. Iheated up the burger for lunch and it tasted ok. They use WAY too much salt (and no condiments, again) on their burgers. I wasabout half way thru when I discovered what I hope was a bone. It was about the shape and size of one of my kids baby teeth!Picture of "it" is attached. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with my Land Ocean experience. It's in an upscale area oftown. The decor is nice. The employees are firendly when they speak with you. We went here for dinner on a Saturday and ate inside (all fully vaccinated and felt really comfortable with the way the... restaurant was set up). The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and has a great ambiance. We had 3 different cocktails amongstthe group and they were fantastic. I'm addition, we ordered the calamari appetizer, which was exceptional, and the grilledartichoke, also yummy. We got four different entrees, salmon, land and sea (with tempura prawns), filet, and ribeye (cowboystyle). They were all excellent. Only feedback we had was that the sides with the meat dishes were lukewarm and that wasunfortunate. Regardless, we had a great experience and will definitely be going back next time we're in town! Had a very positive dining experience at Land Ocean. The wait staff were very nice and energetic. They knew the menu items... very well and were able to make recommendations. They were a little behind on the knowledge of the different beers, but didreally well for not being beer drinkers; we had all our questions answered and they made a good beer recommendation aswell. The food was delicious. However, I think they try to get a little too fancy on some of the meals. For instance thewagyu plate would have been perfect, but they put teriyaki sauce on top. The meat was delicious and very well prepared with acrispy outside and tender red inside. It would have been perfect with the sauce on the side or in much lighter amounts or maybeon the asparagus. The wedge salad with chicken was very simple and perfectly done; very good dressing. The burger wasdelicious, thick, and juicy. The fries were think and crispy. All in all the prices were not bad either for a nice restaurantand very good food. The bathrooms were very clean and well kept. The style of the facilities was open and fresh and made for apositive experience in using the washrooms. We will certainly be returning to try other menu items and a few different beers. Read more
