This place is amazing! And I'm not easy to please when it comes to dining! I ate here with my family of 5. My wife had the fried... haddock, it was plentiful, moist and tender. The youngest two ate off the kids menu, one got grilled cheese, the other got fishsticks which was the same haddock cut into strips. The oldest got wings, which looks and smelled so good we ordered anotherdozen to share! I had the fried scallops, which were nicely breaded and cooked perfectly! (Scallops easily get over cooked andrubbery) served with home made tarter sauce that was rich, creamy and delicious! The home made baked beans were also very good! Not overly sweet, not watery. Our waitress was very attentive, patient and kind. (We were rather needy) and after such an allaround great meal, total bill was only $86! Which left plenty in the budget for a large tip that the waitress deserved! Thisplace is 2.25 hours from home and we are looking for excuses to go back! Read more

Popped in here while driving home from Elk county. Glad we stopped here over the name brands. Quick, friendly service. The fish... and mashed potatoes were outstanding. The wings were amazing (we even ordered an extra dozen!). Even my five year old loved herfish stick and broccoli! Huge portions! 10/10 would drive hours to come back! Read more

Ordered the 8 ounce flounder with crab. Got a very dry, small, overcooked previously frozen fish filet, ?crab? stuffing was... bready with no crab flavor that I could detect. Service was excellent. Table busser was very friendly. Big family style eatingplace. There were Lots of locals who seemed to enjoy it very much. I suspect that I am used to a different quality of food soperhaps I?m not a good judge of restaurants in the area. Read more

Usually this place is top notch. Tonight they had an off night. I ordered 2 meals. The baked potato was burnt and tasted... smoky so it wasn?t edible. Rolls were missing from both meals. One salad had no dressing and the other was missing the pickledeggs and beets that I paid extra for. Read more

Stopped here while out and about visiting the state forest in the area let me say WOW the staff was extremely friendly and the... food was great I had the mild bone in wings, I feel they would win a wing off easily, my son got a cheese burger and said it wasthe best he has had in a long time, my wife had the chicken parmesan with spaghetti also very good. The atmosphere wasenjoyable. Our server a younger blonde haired girl was very attentive and made sure everything was good she asked if we neededrefills and kept our table clear as we finished. If I didn't live 2 hours away I'd be a regular customer, next time I'm in thearea I'll be sure to stop in again. Read more

I'm from the Philadelphia area. A colleague and I went out to State College area to pick up a used vehicle on a trailer. He and... I hate fast food and were looking for some decent food to eat, before making the 3 hour trek back to the shop. I saw nothingwithin the State College area that piqued my interest or had decent reviews, so I chose something further down along the way.Let me state, that this took place on a Sun. THIS eatery was 1 of 2 that seemed OK, with the 2nd one only a few hundred feetfarther, across the street. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. This establishment looks like a hole in thewall, however, don't be quick to judge a book by its cover. The place is clean and the employees were extremely inviting andhospitable. The place takes me back to the 70s or 80s, with the wooden tables (etched with names [Mark + Kathy] or statements[nothing vulgar] & random things you'd find on an old school desk), wooden floors carved and scuffed by the many years of thesame tables & benches being slid to clean under them, the coat hooks attached to the benches (which most places don't use due tothe lack of trust), and the timber posts throughout the old building, easily built late 1800s or early 1900s. As outdated orworn as some things looked, it was clean and kept as nice as it can be. The food was OUTSTANDING. My friend ordered the porkchops and stated how they were the BEST he has had EVER. THAT says a lot. He was raving about them for the rest of the nightand seriously wanting a way to replicate them if possible. He had fries & applesauce for the sides, also quite good. I atesomething simple and basic, because I was starved. I tend to order as basic as possible when it comes to 'new to me'establishments, as a way to make it "foolproof" to mess up my order. So Grilled Cheese sandwich w/fries fit that bill. Ithought it was amazing! Best I've had in a while. With 'rona, it's been a disaster to try and eat out anymore with Read more

This was a good stop. We were referred by a contact at a local business to eat at the restaurant, so we gave them a try! It... looks like an old house they converted into a restaurant. Takes you back. The food and service were great! We'd definitely comeback if we're in the area again. We tried the fish and chips with a side salad with the house dressing. And a hamburger with aside of coleslaw. All was really good. The house dressing on the salad was so good. The salad was so lite and fresh tasting! Thecoleslaw reminded me of my Mom's and it was the best!! Read more
