This has always been one of our favorite restaurants so when we decided to have a vow renewal we knew we wanted to have it here... in thier event room. The staff and management were amazing. The food was delicious and we could not have asked for a moreperfect night. Thank you Lauren, Kristin and staff you all were truly amazing. The Great American Saloon is solid. We go probably once a month or so on average. Good food and fun ambience, small town feel... and excellent service! The only disappointment for me is they took wings off the menu?why, oh why would you do it, Saloon?! Alas, they have other tasty appetizers to suit your fancy. Anything from Scotch eggs if you?re feeling adventurous and Britishto the crab bowl if you want some filling comfort food. I?m a huge French onion soup lover and the Saloon?s is second only to the French onion soup I had in Paris. It?s a must try. The Cobb Salad is HUMONGOUS (add a protein, and it?s two meals,easy)! Nice steaks and pasta dishes. Good burgers or fish and chips. They pretty much got you covered. I wish they?d changethe menu sometimes just to switch it up but what they offer is ,as I said before, solid. They have a variety of beers anddrinks, also. Around Valentines Day they had a great beer called Two Die For from Two Roads Brewing. It was a dark chocolateraspberry stout and it was really to die for. Yum! Can?t go wrong eating at the Saloon! This is quite a unique place!! Lots to look at inside. The menu is extensive. Everyone said their steakes and crab cakes were... very good. If you have a problem with taxidermy, go some place else. We thought the decor was great and loved seeing all the different... animals. We wanted to try a place we had never been and we will definitely be back in the future. There were several menu itemsthat we want to try. Their cream of crab soup was so very good. We also had their Cajun crab Mac n cheese (fabulous) and theircrab corn fettuccine (very filling and creamy). Service was fast and friendly. Good for small parties of 2 or large groups. We have not been out for a meal in a long time. The Saloon always was the spot for us. This meal we had has made us kick... ourselves for being away so long. The food, as usual, was excellent. The waitress and hostess were very nice. And of course theatmosphere is the best. Read more
