We decided to go out to dinner last minute and we were able to get in so easily using Open Table on a Sat night. The whole... dinner from start to finish was an amazing experience. Our server, Will, guided us the whole way and gave us outstandingservice. His personality and wit kept us laughing the whole night! We enjoyed everything from our fried caprese appetizer andcharcuterie board to our own choice of entree courses cooked in this delicious coq au vin to the milk chocolate dessert fonduewhere we could dip our favorite cakes and fruit. Absolutely fantastic! The food, waitress and experience overall was phenomenal. We were a little worried at the beginning... because the restaurant was busy but Stephanie made it worth while! My husband and I went there for the first time to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Our server Chris was probably the best... server I've ever had in my life, he was attentive and funny, definitely an asset for the Melting Pot! He even brought a cutelittle place out that said Happy Anniversary in chocolate, which was very thoughtful. Disappointed. Before making a reservation, I inquired about non-dairy and vegan options and promptly got a very nice email reply... from the manager, who made our reservations. Everyone except our server was great. He brought us meat when we wanted veganoptions. He never brought us bread and I had to ask another server for help. He took away my daughter's cocktail before she wasfinished. He took away our forks and we had no utensils for our entry and had to ask another employee for help since he wasn'tthere. He didn't seem interested in helping us or making it a memorable experience. The 2 managers on-site were very good andthe women who were serving other tables seemed very good. I wish we had had one of them instead. Our server was arrogant andself-absorbed. I was also a bit surprised when I got the bill. We usually go to KPot in East Brunswick, which is also pricey butthe service, quality and experience are much better. I had really wanted to go to the Melting Pot and was disappointed. I'm notsure I'd give it a second chance. Again, I praise the management. They were excellent. We had the bad luck of having a serverwho wasn't good. Read more
