I'd like to commend Bertucci's in Reading, MA on their exceptional service tonight for my daughter's 3rd birthday party. Our... server Drew, restaurant manager Andy, and the entire staff went out of their way to provide a fantastic "make your own pizzaparty" experience for the kids, while catering to the entire crowd of adults as well. Everyone had a blast, the pizza wasdelicious, and the value was great for what you receive. Went in on Sunday 9/18 and there was a 30 minute wait because they only had one server. However, I'm glad we waited because... the experience was excellent. Jenna was our server and she was awesome! Everything we ordered came out perfect and exactly howwe requested it. She even kept our drinks refilled- we never even had to ask her. She was calm and not stressed, which wasimpressive given she was taking care of the entire restaurant. The entire staff pitched in to make this a great experience foreveryone. I saw the manager making pizzas while we on our way out. Most restaurants are short staffed these days, but I'venever seen one pull themselves together like these folks did. I was very impressed. Overall terrible experience. Went to Bertucci's Reading MA location on Tuesday with a 15$ gift card. After the meal I gave the... waitress my credit card with the gift card, and she disappeared for 15-20 minutes in very empty restaurant. When she finallycame back, she 1) did not run the gift card on the bill, and 2) she charged my credit card for a different table's bill. When Iinquired what was going on she apologized and said she would fix the bill and I would not be charged for the wrong receipt. Igave her my credit card again, and when she came back, she charged me for the full bill, and did not run the gift card AGAIN. When I asked, she said that the gift card was not working, and she could not run it which I felt was odd that she would notinform me before running the credit card. When I spoke with the manager, he manually added the credit to the bill and said thatI would not be charged for the incorrect bill, or the previous bill without the gift card applied. However, upon further reviewof my online banking statement I was charged 3 SEPRATE TIMES (once for another table's bill, once with the full amount withoutthe gift card applied, and once for the actual bill with the gift card applied). This incident has left me reluctant to returnto this location. Additionally following our visit, we realized we visited on the "2 for Tuesday" pizza promotion. Consistently Good, Always Fresh and for a Fair Price!! I usually get take out, but whenever we have a big party, we go to... Bertucci's in Reading! Never an issue getting call ahead seating and that makes going out with a large group so much easier! Read more
I ordered 2 pizzas at 330 via the online ordering app and was told the order would be ready at 4. I arrived at 4 and no pizzas... were ready. I waited 45 mins and finally received the pizza, but no rolls were available, oh well. But after all the extrawait time, i get home (5min ride) and both pizzas were cold.
