My new favorite sushi place in Rapid City. Central location between downtown and School of Mines. Solid food, very reasonably... priced, and minimalist ambiance. Sesame balls and bean cake mochi are awesome. Staff is friendly and professional. My onlydisappointment is that they close at 8 pm (and they're pretty militant about the 7:30 last seating and 7:45 last call from thekitchen). As a guy who used to work in hospitality, I'm glad staff gets to go home at a reasonable hour, but as a person whousually eats dinner late, it's sometimes tricky to slide in before the kitchen staff turn into pumpkins. Sushi Boat was excellent and server took great care to make sure we had everything we needed.

This place was overall ok. They could improve the inside decor and add more tables. The crab rangoons are very good. I love that... they are in a thin and crispy pastry. Service was very good. The teriyaki chicken needed way more teriyaki sauce and thechicken was a little spongy. Maybe it was overcooked?. it tasted like low quality chicken. The portion size was good. Thechicken cutlet also seemed like low quality chicken, but the flavor of the sauce was very good. Also good portion size. I wasn?t expecting any decent sushi in South Dakota. This sushi was totally fine. No complaints. I tried the sushi place... available in Sioux Falls a couple weeks ago, and it was no good. This place is good and if you?re in the mood, come give it atry. In addition to sake, they also have local beer and seltzer on tap. Read more

Wow. Mind-blowing experience. We started our trip here and everything since has been a disappointment in comparison to this... place. The spring rolls are the best you'll ever have. I just moved here from Texas and have been disappointed by most of the restaurants in Rapid City? I was trying not to get too... excited about this place but wow the food is delicious!! We had the pork gyoza appetizer, Volcano roll, Seal roll, Musashi rolland the Marley roll, along with Sapporo beer to wash it down with. We loved everything! The service was great even though theyare understaffed. Our server had many tables to tend to but he was courteous and was still able to take care of us. We alreadywant to go back to try everything else on the menu! I am interested in trying their Korean dishes like the beef bulgogi and thebibimbap! We will definitely be back! Thank you!! Read more

Once again hole in the wall shops stand up to the hype of having great food and great service! We ordered the seaweed salad, 2x... sushi combo 1, 2x kids sushi meal, rainbow roll, and just about all the desserts. We washed the sushi and sashimi with warmsake! The fish did not leave any aftertastes and gave a really refreshing feel going down! The texture was soft but still firmenough to show the good quality of the fish. Almost missed this gem! I?m so glad we didn?t. We had a wonderful dinner here with our little family. My husband and I are... pretty close to sushi snobs and our bar is set pretty high but this place definitely satisfied our bellies! We started withseaweed salad, miso soup, and sashimi sampler. We loved how the seaweed salad came atop of pickled daikon. It added well to thecombination of flavors. The sashimi had great texture and tasted so fresh. Then, our two boys received their kids sushi mealthat came out in these adorable boats with festive umbrellas in their oranges! They devoured everything! It had all theirfavorites which we would normally order for them: California rolls, edamame, and sliced oranges.
