I am in town for an annual Church event, and I always try to find one place to visit as much as possible. This year in South... Dakota I discovered Black Hills Bagels. Their coffee is great, and their food is delicious. Their staff is super friendly, too!If you have a moment it's definitely worth the stop. It may take longer than a fast food joint, but it is notches above inflavor, quality, ambiance, and customer service. I wish I could give them 10 stars. Read more

I would have given a 3.5 but it?s not as low as a 3. The potential for a 5 is truly there. They have the concept down with the... options they have but it is just simply too expensive for what we got. We paid $30 - my boyfriend and I. For 2 bagels with a fewtoppings. The toppings were simply too little and the bagel was barely if even toasted as requested. There was a singlecucumber, single tomato. Not much creme cheese and they did forget my Lettuce. Without raising the prices they simply need tomake the quantities fair for what you Order. Flavours were there and it was enjoyable but certainly not as much as it should orcould have been. This is one of our favorite local businesses to support. The staff is always pleasant and the bagel sandwiches are always... consistent and good! The coffee is provided by a local roaster and is never burnt either. They also have a wide bagel selectionso you can get exactly what you want! Ate here for breakfast and lunch one Friday in June. 9am was kinda crowded, line not out the door probably 3-4 groups in front... of us. Took about 10 minutes to get our order which was just toasted bagels and cream cheese, which is not great but also notawful. Came back for lunch and tried their bagel sandwiches, which were pretty good. The veggie bagel sandwich with creamcheese is a classic i get wherever i can, and they did a good job on it. I think they could use a review of their kitchenworkflow, people with complex orders should not hold up people with simple bagel/cream cheese/coffee orders. I think peoplejust wanting the easy stuff would be put off with too long of a wait. Overall really like this place, will be coming here a lotafter we move to town this summer. Read more

We always stop and get a sack of bagels and some cream cheese on the way to the cabin, and enough to take home for later. Always... love the bagels. But this time they just weren't quite the same. Stopped last Thursday afternoon for a half dozen vanilla nutbagels to go. They were packed 3/plastic bag. When we got to the cabin we were going to share a bagel, but we just couldn't eatthem. They were doughy, and sticky. Tried toasting one to see if it'd cook up a bit but it just wasn't the same. They appear tobe undercooked. I should have checked the bag before we left the shop. $20 down the drain. I'm sure we'll give em another shotthis weekend, but I'll check my order at the door. Visiting rapid city, and when I saw they had chocolate chunk bagels I had to stop by. It's definitely a unique establishment,... with a quaint vibe, with both take out and table service available. I just ordered a toasted chocolate chunk bagel with creamcheese, total came to about $4. Some members of my family also ordered their own bagels as well. From here the experiencequickly turned sour...after standing and waiting for my simple order, I noticed several people who ordered after me had alreadyreceived their selections. They seemed to be confused on how to deliver my order, and my sister who was with me and placed andorder of her own, noticed our bagels sitting on the counter, packaged and completely ignored by the service staff. She actuallyhad to ask for them, upon which they were noticed and delivered. I can only imagine how long those bagels would have sat therebefore our sad, hungry faces betrayed the sense of frustration we felt. After that confusing debacle, the actual bagels weredecent. They tasted fresh, and had a good amount of chewynwss. Even the cream cheese was copiously applied and quite creamy.However, that actual chocolate chips/chunks were a bit lacking, and it was challenging to consider find the taste of thechips. We love these bagels so much we went back twice during our visit! Lots of savory and sweet bagel flavors in addition to... butter/cream cheese/other topping options. Slightly pricey, but worth the cost and wait. The employees were really nice too. Read more
