Hwy 55 is one of the few sit down restaurants in Randleman that is good. When I want grill food, I go with this place! The food... is good, and it's a real causal place. The restraunt is clean, and the wait staff is always on top of it. Hwy 55 is 50s theme,but it's not tacky like someplaces. Their prices are reasonable for the portions you receive. Someone out there will thinkthey're over priced, but who's menu prices haven't gone up a little? Also, their ice cream stuff is pretty good, but I willadmit that I think they are a bit steep. Highway 55 has the absolute best cheeseburgers, fries ( chili cheese fries are out of this world good! ) and milkshakes!... Everything is so delicious. The service is phenomenally great the waitresses are very kind and considerate .Very polite, theyeven open the door for you when you leave. The atmosphere is vintage America with pictures of great American icons such as ElvisPresley, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and James Dean on the walls. They play excellent music from all genres from back in theday that bring back memories from the classic era or put you in touch with those great days . Our original server was very nice. She was pleasant and got us what we needed. Her shift was over I guess and she switched us to... this guy who was acting super tweaked out. He was sweating on top of everything. Couldn?t stay still to save his life even whenstopping by our table once the entire visit, he was like shaking and moving his legs uncontrollably. Was dropping drinks. Neverbrought us our check after we sat and waited 10 mins with our stuff all stacked. So we had to go up front and figure out what wehad. No big deal. The boy up front even said he didn?t know what was going on while the server was running back and fourth fromone end of the bar to the other which we replied that we didn?t think he did either. He didn?t split anything right. We justgave up and paid what he gave us on the ticket and left. Hopefully he gets the help he needs or someone says something. Kidschicken meal had hair in it. Would have complained and said something but our server was acting completely twacked out anddidn?t come back to the table. Food wasn?t terrible. The rest of the staff was nice and friendly. We ate here in middle of July 2022. Burgers and fries were fresh and hot, prepared as requested, and tasted very good. Sweet... tea was very good too, (fyi, they have the "good" ice). The three staff members in the store made an impression on my husbandand me. They worked together to make sure customers were taken care of. Each one seemed delighted to be working there.
