My office recently moved and so I on a mission to check out local lunch spots in Rancho Mirage. I have lived in the Valley for... 20+ years and I never heard of The HoneyBaked Ham Co. When I first walked in I couldn't tell if they were retro on purpose orjust that old and really clean. I found out from one of the staff that they have been in the desert for 50 years so very cleanand well maintained. I tried the Tavern Club lunch special and loved it. Quality ingredients, good portion sizes, and fairlypriced. When I asked some others about it they said they are known for their family meals especially during the holidays. Our favorite place for a delicious sandwich, and of course The Honey Baked Ham for the holidays. Recently we each bought a... sandwich with smoked turkey, ham, with sides of their baked beans and a side salad. One of the tastiest lunches I've had in along time. 2 hour wait time to pick up reserved items prior to Thanksgiving. Get inside to be told that it was the wrong line, and should... have been done curbside. No curbside option was given, was told that there was someone outside that was informing people, butthere wasn't. Very disorganized for something that I'm told happens every year. You'd think that if it was a disaster every yearthey'd fix it. Now, given that people are still waiting in line for hours for their food, that is a plus I guess. Read more
