Cafe con Leche was beyond delicious but I think I should have gotten the 4 shots instead of the 2. Empanadas and Papa Rellenas... are crazy good. I came to calle 8 craving empanadas and yucca rellena and the taste was above my expectations! Specially the Guava and Cheese... empanada. No wonder it was recommended by a cuban friend. Seriously this place and it's entire staff is a God send! Everyone is delicious and made fresh to order. The most authentic... Cuban flavor you're gonna find anywhere near by. The cafecito is amazing! The lechon fries are not to be missed! Make sure totry the empanadas and guava cupcakes whenever they are available. I've heard nothing but good things about this place. I'm happy to report it is all true. The food is spectacular, and the... coffees are a must. The restaurant itself is very charming the stuff is super friendly. There is a little bit of a wait but itis definitely worth it. Everything is made to order. I give this place a 3.5 star review. Unfortunately they do not have indoor dining. The Cuban sandwich was very underwhelming,... almost like a sandwich you can find at your local bakery. The empanadas have a slight sweet taste which does bode well with thesaltiness of the meat inside. The Lechon fries were very good especially for the price. 12 dollars gets you almost half a poundof fries topped with meat which falls apart in your mouth. In conclusion, I would stay away from the sandwich and appetizers andstick with the fries and coffee! Read more

I was looking for a place to enjoy a great lunch. I found Calle Ocho and was immediately greeted by the owner, Denise! Her... spirit was infectious immediately! I told her so and her eyes smiled way beyond the mask she was wearing! I asked her forrecommendations and she let me know what was delicious! I placed a large to go order and she told me how long it would takesince they make everything fresh! The staff worked so well together and it felt like I was waiting for lunch by a family whoseonly purpose was to make my tummy happy!
