Found this little spot to grab a late dinner and a beer. Food was amazing. We got the risotto balls and pretzels both 100%, my... husband got the spicy pork quesadilla and I got a Cuban and both were excellent. We sat outside and they had the heaters in andI loved the atmosphere with ambient lighting and plants. We both enjoyed it and will be going back. Atmosphere is nice, inside is nice and staff is nice (when they actually help you or you can find help). Leaving 3 stars because... menus were very sticky. We sat at the bar - took a while to get drinks, to place food order, and to pay to leave. Food was okay- I feel they have a lot opportunity. I got mixed feelings about Wakefield. We have been here many times and up until our last visit it has been good. Last night we... went and we were greeted by the host with the question, "Can I help you?" Not welcome to Wakefield Tavern....etc...So Iexplained to her that we would like a table for two. Our waitress started off good but after taking our drink selectiondisappeared for a while, so I got up and began to look for her. As I was looking I can see the staff having conversations andfooling around. The manager saw me looking and then got our waitress. She explained what happened and we understood, she wasnice and did a good job. The food was ok, a little over cooked, and over priced. I got the chicken tenders and my wife got thetavern sandwich. We both had a drink and an appetizer. I was taken back with the bill being over $60 bucks then I usually tip20-25%. We will probably be back because we don't normally judge a place by one visit, especially since the other experienceswere good. Fantastic. Went here on a whim looking for shrimp and grits. The menu is imaginative, the food excellent, service was fast and... attentive. The food came quickly, and didn't feel like the speed came at the expense of quality and taste. The outdoor space isbeautiful. Highly recommend! Read more

Our first time here and it was GREAT!!! The food was excellent- I got the Tavern steak sub with house side salad and both were... the BEST I?ve ever had! The details on the salad were impressive, and the steak was so tender and well seasoned! My husband gotthe burger with a Tobacco onion and he said it was delicious! The service was awesome- Jessica was so attentive, knowledgeableon the menu and conveyed she really cares about excellent customer service- she deserves a RAISE ????! The hostess was very warmand welcoming. The bathroom very cute and well stocked with toothpicks too!! We found our new favorite place to eat and I wantto try everything on the menu!!! My six year old enjoyed all her food too and Jessica was very sweet to her as well!!! Read more

Family was desiring a place that had wings but also a good gluten free selection. This place was perfect for that combo! ... Plenty of GF options, great service, small business feel and local. nice little spot in wakefield! food was better than your average sports bar and it has a nice homey feel. servers look like... local high schoolers and were all kind. wings were delicious and the crab + shrimp alfredo was fantastic!! philly egg rolls weremy favorite! bartender was generous with cocktails! yum!
