My family and I ate dinner here before going to a concert. It was convenient to parking and the Red Hat Amphitheater and it... turned out to be a great decision. The menu isn't the largest I've seen, but there was definitely something for everyone, and Icould have happily eaten anything on the menu. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared and portioned. Our server, Ricky,was attentive without hovering and made some great recommendations. He was both professional and personable, and a great assetto The Overlook. My husband and I were here at the Residence Inn for a concert. We stopped by the bar to have some drinks and eat before the... show. Not only was the food excellent, but the service was top notch! Theresa and Kisha (I think those were their names) had thebest personalities and made our experience great! We will definitely be back to the hotel AND the restaurant. Beautiful environment, with friendly, genuine staff. Food is savoury, prepared fresh, and has wonderful presentation with... attention to detail. I like that they have weekly house specials that the Chef personally creates, and the pricing is veryreasonable. This alone makes The Overlook unique, all while it's in the heart of downtown Raleigh. Come for the cocktails, stay for the food! Seriously, it’s shocking to have a mid-range hotel with a great restaurant and bar.... Great steaks cooked perfectly to your liking, delicious specials (I had red snapper), and the apps are a must (try the chickenfritters). The staff are super friendly, too! That includes the chef who was helping deliver the food and checking in to see howdiners enjoyed their meal. Oh, almost forgot…the honey butter is an absolute treasure. Read more
