Reviews for the Oak, Kitchen | Bourbon Bar in Raleigh, NC
If you?re looking for a cool, upscaled casual spot for dinner or a date. This place is a must. Our waiter was so knowledgeable... on different types of bourbon/whiskey so of course we did whiskey flights. The food is out of this world. We got the deviled eggspread, Mac and cheese, sliders and more. The braised pork shoulder is a MUST. Give this place a try, you won?t be disappointed. Read more
The food & drinks at this restaurant were excellent. We could not get enough or eat fast enough to enjoy all of the food that... came out of the kitchen. This place knocked it out of the park with the food options and flavors. I am unsure of the interiorof the restaurant as we sat outside on the patio (which I was melting at 92° with no fan. Overall, I enjoyed this restaurantalong with the 4 other women I was with for dinner that evening. *we also ate so fast that I forgot to take pictures of thefood. Read more
I am so happy that I came and dined here tonight. The drinks delicious, the food is the best I have had in Raleigh(original New... Yorker, I know food). The Mac cheese is cheesy and better than your grandma?s(3 different cheeses) the Brussels sprouts mouthwatering, the sliders( Nashville, and bourbon sliders just perfection. Not greasy just the right amount of seasoning. Thebourbon is top notch. They go to the farmers market and hand pick their ingredients. Owner Hailey and assistant Tyler aresouthern hospitality with a pinch of Chicago. I have found my spot, can?t wait to try all the bourbons. Must place to visit ifyou want good food and an excellent adult atmosphere. Read more

Just came back from this cool, contemporary bar?interesting group of workers, definitely warm?food is good and just okay value... for money, TVs are not running and the crowd is more on Not college kids side. Bartender knows what is he doing and thoroughlyenjoys doing it with a great sense of humor and attention to details. Lighted live plants are good idea and so are the outdoorheaters and seating arrangements. A downtown must visit spot, if you love crowds, cuisines and cocktails?. Read more
Everything about the Oak is great! I was visiting my sister from out of town and we decided to do dinner at the Oak Friday... evening. From the time I walked in to the time I left, I was treated with the best customer service, friendliness and welcomingnature of the staff. The food was AMAZING, Glenn and Laurel are a whole vibe and the best bartenders, they are super fun andmake sure your glass is never empty. They also make sure you have ample water for hydration. Now let?s talk about the plants. Iam a new plant mom and fell in love with the Monstera plant! Great atmosphere, positive vibes and good food. You must check outthe Oak and the bone marrow dish with the bourbon luge! Read more

I just happened to stumble across this place while looking for a unique dining experience for some friends visiting Raleigh. The... Oak kitchen was beyond 5 stars, let's start with the atmosphere, it was such a relaxed place to have an intimate evening. Themusic was set at a great volume for background noise and to hear it but not have it drown out conversation at the table. Thelighting was low, but gives an excellent ambiance and vibe to the place focusing on their large bourbon selection. Speaking ofdrink selection their house crafted spirits are all amazing each unique and full of flavor. My guest got the Oak old fashionedand I tried thir house Gin and tonic, as well as the 86. All of these drinks were so well balanced and flavorful without beingover powered by the alcohol used in them. My guest asked the server what made his Old Fashioned have such a unique taste and ourserver Trevor informed him he had used a special dark walnut bitter for him in the drink. He had picked up that my guest waslooking for something unique in his drink. Trevor was a fantastic as well as the rest of the staff our drinks consistentlyfilled and our table checked regularly for drinks and feedback on everything. The table talked over what each of us were goingto order so we started with a delicious Civiche and the house nachos with Brisket and both were amazing. They were a greatprecedent to our meal, the table ordered the braised pork shoulder with homemade mac n cheese, and fried brussel sprouts aflavorful balanced meal of southern comfort the pork is tender and shredded with a ample amount of sauce, the fried brusselsprouts are a unique take that is crunch yet soft at the same time the sauce drizzled across them is a sweet little twist thatgive them a unique taste, and the mac n cheese is a hearty full flavored mix of cheese and cream. The Oak smash on the rosemarybrioche bread is fantastic the patties of Angus beef were well seasoned and cooked perfectly to retain moistur Read more
