We walked in on a slow night while on vacation and some guy started yelling "hey, can't you see there's a line?" It was hard to... tell who he was talking to because he was in a casual conversation with two people. It turns out he was an employee who wassupposed to be checking IDs instead of fraternizing, and he was yelling at potential customers as they naturally walked ininitially uninterrupted. We happily walked straight out instead of going back to get in his idea of a line. Lots of friendlierand lively options in the area. No need to waste your time here for unprofessional service. And based on the reviews, I?m atpeace knowing half of the people who walk into this place will never go back. Read more
Used to love Dogwood until they decided to hire the most racist and aggressive bouncers in Raleigh. They did not let our black... friend in because he was wearing ?sweat shorts? when half the white men inside the bar were wearing athletic or cargo shorts.When we went to complain/ask for an explanation from the bouncer I got my entire drink that I had just purchased taken from mymouth and thrown in the trash by a bouncer. DO NOT GO HERE, the bouncers are disrespectful, racist and disgusting. Can?t believethis place hasn?t been shut down by now. Read more
Waited 15 minutes in line only for them to tell us that we couldn't get in because one friend had a pocket on the side of his... shorts that was considered a 'cargo short'. This place is a shthole frat bar with a dress code? 0/10 Also saw someone sittingon the railing outside (feet hanging over the edge) and 2 bouncers grabbed him and legit body slammed him down onto his backonto the deck, then carried him outside. If i could give an establishment 0 stars, i would. I witnessed the bouncers kicking out several groups of peoples for... ?inappropriate? outfits including tank tops, ripped jeans, footwear, chains, track pants, etc. there was no reason to not letthese people that waited in line in. Aside from that, the bouncers would let females cut the line of people that had beenwaiting for long periods of time to get in just because they were females. Seems as though they were making general assumptionsabout people for a below average bar. I used to enjoy coming to this bar, but I definitely will not be supporting theirestablishment in the future. HORRIBLE experience!!!! If I could rate this 0/5 I would. This place literally needs to be shut down. How do you ?enforce?... clothing restrictions on certain individuals? My friend was denied access for wearing ?ripped jeans? yet there were severalgirls behind that had on the exact same type of jeans and got in. Please be consistent or shut it down!!! I recommend not goinghere if you genuinely want to grab a good drink with friends without dealing with a load of bull. Enjoy the one star that youall DON?T deserve :). Read more
This bar is genuinely unsafe. I?ve witnessed several instances of the overbearing, ineffective bouncers violently attacking... peaceful patrons (usually men), throwing them out violently as they try to willfully leave. The police are often called. I?vebeen here twice and had the same experience both times; it is uncomfortable and dangerous. So many good bars in this area ?don?t risk your night, go elsewhere! (You?ll see lots of similar reviews about the bouncers, mixed in with ones that say ?thebouncer ____ was awesome and took great care of us!? Those are usually by women and probably actively sought out by the staff totry and counteract people's honest warnings). Read more
Cool bar with a huge outdoor patio. The cocktails are good when it's quiet and service is surprisingly fast even when it's... slammed. My wife and I have been in a couple times and the bartenders Mallory and Abby remembered our drink orders. Cheap strongdrinks, lots of heaters, dope patio, and the best people watching on Glenwood. Also, security is the tightest and friendliest inRaleigh. A+ would recommend. Read more
The place was almost empty and the bouncers kept instigating incidents where upset patrons were being escorted away from... confrontation by their friends of whom they traveled there with. And instead of letting the incident go, the security staff kepton egging on the patron to the point where his friends had to step in and tell the bouncer in particular to keep to himself asthey bring away their upset friend. When my friend and I tried to give the now angry patron some water to cool down, the stafftold us to leave and that they'd finish our drinks. They also offered the offended party a couple of bottled waters, but itturned out to be an empty gesture as they kept antagonizing the patrons. This was my first time going and the impression I gotwas of a horrible establishment with the veneer of it being a chill spot. The drinks were fine and fairly priced, the bartenderwas very outgoing and amazing to have serve us but it was definitely not worth the horrible way that the security staff seemedto handle the situation tonight. I would give no stars if possible but instead all I can say is that there are alot moreinteresting and fun venues with live music and fun staff to hit up. Avoid this place at all costs if you want to have a goodtime. Read more
