Went here for my bachelorette party during Trolli Pub crawl tour which stopped near here. The driver encouraged us to patronize... The Anchor Bar. We went in with about 4 people to get a quick shot. It was a busy weekend in town but the bar was not ?slammed?at 2:30 PM in a Saturday. He didn?t serve us for fifteen minutes. We waited. And waited. After ten, we were finally at leastacknowledged when he told us he would help up shortly. He was purely rude and did NOT want to serve us. We all just could notfigure out why? Were we profiled? We were a mixed group though. Maybe it is more of a sit down place? But, none the less themessage was loud and clear that he was hoping we would wait till we left from frustration. When the shot came he even ignored mewhen I asked what type of tequila it was? Then tried to say ?oh you?re talking to me?? There was no other bartender working. A neighborhood bar with bartenders that specialize in making great cocktails as well as being cool and laidback. I love Anchor. Let me tell you why: 1. It's chill. 2. The bartenders are awesome, some of the best in town- legitimately. 3.... It's douchebag free. 4. Gay, straight, male, female, T, Q, I, A or + everyone is welcome and cool here. Anchor is off therundown path of Raleigh's Glenwood South District too, which makes it free from the weekend chaos. But whether or not Anchor isyour choice, there is plenty of other bars and restaurants all around it. It's an easy choice. One of my favorite bars in town. Read more
The bar staff is great! They make amazing drinks you can't really get anywhere else. My favorite is the seating area outside... when it's summer or spring. It gets pretty busy during Saturday and Sunday nights. We go there at least once a week and love it! Read more
Would give less if I could. First of all the drinks are fine but over priced. I was at anchor and a man tried to stop a fight... that happened between 2 other people. When the owner arrived he banned the man breaking up the fight which is crazy and unfair. Read more
