Sushi Blues is the Glenwood South spot for good sushi! Glenwood Ave frontage and next to popular bars and clubs. Large open... front patio seating with large benches and tables custom built by the owner, quick service and a great bar. Stop here for adrink before heading out or grab a bar table for BOGO sushi rolls. Wednesday and Sunday are half-price bottles of wine specials.Sushi Blues has been a long-time hot spot in Raleigh and the sushi is excellent. Love this place for meeting friends! Read more
When we got our sushi it was warm and the fish was not fresh. We had a reservation that got us seated immediately but after that... it was about an hour and half total for dinner. Udon was the best thing that we ordered. Read more
My fiance and I always wanted to try this place because of all the people we see coming in and out. They have a wonderful... seating area outside. Andy was our server. I love how he introduced himself to us and his patience while we tried to findsomething to order. The food was amazing. The soup and salad is to die for lol. The vibe is cool and the sushi was really yummy, but it was a super long wait (like almost 40 minutes) to get it and I’m not... sure why because we were here on a Thursday afternoon and there weren’t very many customers. So idk if that’s normal or not,but if you’re in a hurry I wouldn’t chance it. Luckily, we weren’t so our party of three just chatted and made the best ofthe wait. When the sushi was finally brought out, though, it was delicious. Love that it’s BOGO so we could all order a coupledifferent kinds of rolls to get a good sampling. There wasn’t one we had that we didn’t really enjoy, so I don’t think youcan go wrong no matter what you order. Lovely place, tasty food, courteous service. It is a great spot for these spring days with an outdoor dining option that is... interesting and fresh. Inside is spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent. I asked for: Spicy Octopus (Diced freshoctopus and cucumber tossed in spicy sauce, served cold with scallions and roe, topped with sesame seed and ponzu sauce) wasgood. Carter Finley (Tempura calamari, bacon, avocado, cilantro, cucumber, spicy mayo, sesame seeds) really delicious. And,Steven Tyler (Chopped shrimp Tempura, spicy mayo, scallions, cucumber on top of Dizzy roll) great. The service was impeccable,fast, and respectful. I will come back to try more rolls. Read more
I don't usually love eating outside, but I took a chance here at Sushi Blues Cafe. I was comfortable and clean. People passing... by (we were right there at the sidewalk) didn't bother us at all. The food was SERIOUSLY AMAZING! It was one of the best I haveever had. It was so flavorful, which I don't usually get eating Sushi. I didn't have to depend on the Wasabi and soy sauce forflavor. Maybe I don't get to go to enough good Sushi places, but this one was amazing. The service was excellent. The pricepoint was okay for me. I also loved that you could bring your dog too. Super awesome vibe! Everyone is laid back and its really fun to eat on the patio and check everything out. The sushi is great... and the rolls have cool names...be sure to get the buy one get one free deal. The food doesn't come out fast especially if youorder a non-sushi item but you don't really go there to be in a hurry. If you like sushi then this is your place! *9/11/21Adding a few pics from our last visit. We go here often and still love everything about this place. BOGO Sushi rolls and good drink specials (on Tuesday it was a draft special and $4 well drinks). Good spot for a quick,... flavorful dinner- PS the HOT ????means HOT and I didn’t think I was as sensitive to spicy things. Will hopefully stop in hereagain.
