My mid-afternoon Sunday brunch was fantastic. Staff and servers were very attentive. Food was beautifully presented and as fresh... tasting as the photo which enticed me to try that particular dish. Not an "everyday" or ordinary Mexican restauarant! It is aclass above, "a cut above." In both food quality, presentation, and atmosphere. Decided to try La Rancherita tonight on a whim with my friend and I couldn?t be happier with the decision. Contrary to recent... complaints I had absolutely no issue with service. The waitress was attentive, extremely nice and made great recommendations.The carne asada was juicy, tender and the salsa was to die for. Where to begin this story, it was a Sunday evening when my girlfriend and I came in for dinner. Beginning with our seating... situation, with many booths available, they decided to seat us here,(see below for our wonderful ambience) I understand thatplaces are understaffed at the moment but our service was comical to say the least our waitress asked if I could get anotherwater and I received it when we got our check. I expect at least if you?re going to sit us by the kitchen at least have decentservice. Now we?ll get back to the service in a second what was really disheartening was the food not only was the food burntand dry and had a handful of rice the order wasn?t even right. Since leaving my stomach feels worse than when I got there. Andwhen we brought this to the attention of the waitress didn?t seem at all apologetic. Just asked us if we wanted to talk to themanager which we could clearly see wasn?t going to help the situation. However I will say my favorite part of this dinner waswhen I had to go to the front of restaurant and grab a working pen. Within seconds of sitting down, we were greeted with chips and salsa (which were seasoned perfectly and absolutely delicious)... and our server greeted us warmly and made excellent suggestions that we took her up on. We got Shrimp Chorizo Tacos, KingCharlie Fajitas and the El Rancherito Burrito. (Pictures below). Our food came out quickly, but just as fast as our food cameback our server.... left? There wasn't any check back at all. Our drinks dwindled to empty and just kind of stayed that way. Ourfood was brought out by someone other than our server and they just weren't seen again until they had our check. The tacos weredelicious with what was filled in them but they were quite small all things considered and not too filling. The Fajitas on theother hand was overly portioned. We had plenty to take home and every bite was terrific. The burrito had quite a lot of onionsand peppers but was lacking the steak. I think it had maybe 3 pieces of steak in all and the rest was veggies. Still good butnot as filling due to lack of steak. All said, after we were served our meals it seemed like they considered their job done andwere off to the next table. We used to come here pretty frequently but it has gone so downhill for some reason. Absolutely horrible service. They were... somehow out of soft drinks. Our server only came by ONCE to take our order. We had zero refills. No one came to check on us theentire time. My order was wrong. Not to mention my waiter literally shortchanged me. Makes you wonder how often they stealcustomers money. If you don?t care about your job, that?s fine, but why take it out on people just trying to eat? Never again Read more
