Perhaps in none of my many publications had I commented that I am Mexican. I live in the United States and I am a lover of world... food. I don't regularly look for Mexican food restaurants, because regularly authentic Mexican food is hard to find. However, Ihad heard many comments about Chido Taco. And today I thought: why not? From the very entrance, the place is very pleasant, avery comfortable terrace and good music. We tried different things and it was one of those times that I wished I had a biggerstomach and could try EVERYTHING! The food is DELICIOUS, but I think what left the best taste in my mouth was the service. Allthe staff were super nice, friendly and helpful, but Abraham (the guy in charge) was an AWESOME host! If you like authentic tacos, especially quesa birria, DO NOT eat here! It had absolutely no taste and was just greasy, i only... ate the rest cause i was hungry smh . These ?five star? reviews have to be coming from people that haven?t had authentic Mexicanfood cause this restaurant was a totally let down. Yeah I ordered the birria tacos and I?ve never had tacos so bland? the cook didn?t fry them hard enough so the tortillas were... soggy and broke apart. The meat was bland, tasted like it was boiled with a singular bay leaf. The rice and beans didn?t evenhave salt. They tried to make it look like the rice was flavorful because it was green? the consume was bland as well. I triedto fix it by adding my own spices. It looked flavorful but there?s no way there could be anything but food coloring in there.I?m surprised they had a 4.5 rating? they must cater to bland palates. For 12.99 they should be ashamed. The quesabirria tacos are the way to go! I ordered the 3 chicken combo plate and it came with a side rice and black beans. The... sauce you dip the tacos in is soooo good! Shut up Raleigh!!!! This place was insanely good. Authentic is the word I would best use to describe this restaurant. Every item... fresh and made in house. Lots to choose from. We had the chicken quesabarrias and it was HEAVEN. Also the Elote asado was like afiesta in my mouth.
