Nostalgic memories of going here when I was in college at NC State. The chicken and steak soft tacos hit the spot and I loved... the fact that you could get grilled green peppers and onions on them. Writing your order down on the pad was such a unique wayof ordering that makes you remember your time there. Read more
This place has really declined. I came in to pick up some tacos for my husband and not only did they get the protein wrong on 2... of the tacos they charged me for toppings that they did not put on the tacos. I didn't notice until I got home. They also haveobviously changed the recipe for the steak. Usually the steak has a clear char-grilled taste. This time the steak tasted likethey boiled the meat in a pot and then chopped it up to serve. Not the same AT ALL. Called back several times once I was homeand noticed the issues. No one picked up the phone any of the the times. Between paying for parking even though my process took15 minutes max, having to pay for salsa and the quality of food/service I will spend my money elsewhere. Not what it used to be. I ordered a total of six tacos. The protein was incorrect on half of the tacos and all of them were... missing beans all together. The protein that I received did not taste correct. It tasted like they boiled in a pot of water andchopped it up. When I called to make a correction no one picks up the phone anymore. If this is the best you can do now just goahead and close the doors. I?m a long time Raleigh resident and even prior to living in Raleigh I lived in Chapel Hill andenjoyed the Carrboro location. I remember where they started and I see where they are now. This is embarrassing for armadillogrill. Read more
I?ve been coming to this location for years and always ordered veggie nachos. My food experience today was awful, which is... pretty incredible! How can you mess up something simple like nachos?! Chips were stale. Beans were cold and bland. Hardly anyqueso on the nachos. Hardly any toppings. Respond all you want however that doesn?t change the fact that the food was bland andoverpriced. Not to mention, we have to pay to park now?! Trash, and won?t come waste my time or money to come back. It?s prettypathetic since this place has been a staple of downtown Raleigh for years. Read more
Beer was warmish, the tacos were good. Guac was a bit oxidized but overall it was aight.
Very funky place, nothing fancy maybe a little too modest, but service was great and food was pretty good. It has pay parking on... the side and in front of the restaurant. Outdoor and indoor seating. You order by filling a form out and then going to thecashier with it, when food is ready they call your name. Worth a shot if you?re around and hungry. Read more
