The Old Salzburg Restaurant After a long day of bush-wackin through the lowlands of Boom Mountain I arrived here on the way... back home. My new car squawking at me that perhaps it was time for a break. The Old Salazburg caught my eye and I pulled in.After a quick meet with the manager, my waitress Bailey was a delight. A charming personality, and a friendly smile made me feelwelcome. I started with a classic for me in hot weather, Iced Tea. Walking about the place gave me the feel that it was atrapper cabin. The warm lighting with multiple balconies and plenty of sunlight had that cozy feel. Nevermind it's part of aRadium classic. And Radium itself is a nook in the rocks, and a really fantastic one at that! Several areas offered a variety ofspace, from a great patio, to a family room, some nice side tables for a romantic rendezvous to a private bar upstairs for anice private function. The restaurant mimicked that highlight - a tasty stop on a travel through Kootenay Park. Wood and rockthroughout, with many pieces of mountain life memorabilia. My dish was the Jagerrostbraten. Red cabbage, spaetzle and beef in anice gravy with steamed veggies on the side. The red cabbage was okay, the spaetlze lacked nutmeg and was a bit eggy and nofresh parsley in it (I know, everybody likes it different ????). The beef otoh was done superb with a mushroom and red winereduction! Finished it off with a raspberry no-bake cheesecake, super yummy! It was pleasantly light and fluffy with realwhipped cream. I might not give shining reviews every time, but I try my best to be fair and honest. I can make do with okayfood, as long as the people are kind and welcoming. At this joint, they do that part in spades! Thanks Bailey. Read more

I rode out here on my motorcycle coming from the hot springs, and I haven't even had my dinner yet, but I already love this... place. The hospitality is fantastic, and both the host and the waitress have been very kind to me. Thank you so much for a greatfirst visit! Looking forward to the Salmon Champagnon! Read more

I wish that bagels were an option for the salmon, cream cheese and capers. While the twirl bread looked gorgeous, it was not so... delicious...a bit dry. Thank you for the friendly service. The strudel was delicious. Read more

It's an amazing restaurant with great food, nice service and located right in the heart of Radium. For a small town like Radium... it is also open for service for most of the day. A visit there by any tourist is certainly recommended. Read more

Delicious, authentic Austrian dishes. The kind of food your grandma would make, if she were from Austria. Super friendly staff!
