A friend and I had Sunday brunch at Jacx today... We have been here before but this will likely be our last time. We arrived... around 12:30 and the sign said the buffet ran until 2:00. First, they ran out of cutlery. While they had someone quicklygrabbing clean (hopefully) silverware from the dishwasher, they ran out of plates. At one point there were 7 or 8 or us millingabout waiting to head to the buffet. The food was tasty but the chaffing dishes were mislabeled and were frequently empty. Ipulled a 3 inch long piece of string out of my slice of stuffed pork roast... good thing I didn't choke on it. I noticed apiece of walnut on the dessert tray... I'm allergic to walnuts... but none of the desserts were labeled. When we finishedeating we waited for at least 15 minutes before going up to the bar to ask for our bill... others had their bill brought thetable. When I checked my bill I noticed that they had charged me $16.99 per person rather than the $13.99 which was clearlydisplayed on a menu right beside me. When I mentioned the mistake I was rudely informed by the woman who seemed to be in chargethat the price on Mother's Day and Father's Day was higher. I stated that the higher price was not on the outside sign orposted anywhere inside. Her reply as she walked away was "Well that's the way it is"! I just looked at the young woman at thetill and told her at least she had done a good job... I hope she got to keep the tip I gave her, it wasn't her fault... Sadly,disappointed... Read more
Great food, great atmosphere and great staff. Food never disappointing. Live music Friday and Saturday nights. One of my... favourite go-to's for dinner. Gotta try the Sunday buffet soon. Excellent quality, great tasting and terrific service Lamb shank was great as was the broccoli soup, highly recommend
