Out of the 20 or so Pizzarias in the Sunnyside, LIC, Woodside area, Uncle Jimmy's stands out. The dough, sauce and toppings are... much better than your average Pizzaria. My personal favorite is the Grandma's pizza, it's taken me a week to eat one of those. I'm very impressed by the freshness of the higher end ingredients that he uses as well as the speed of the delivery. They'vebeen business a good ten years now, it's easy to see why. Pizza is polarizing as we know. I’m saying this because as a local I can say I know a few close friends who staunchly believe... this is the best pizza in the region. So, now that I finally tried it I’ll weigh in. I had a home with a small group on NewYear’s Day being safe at home. We needed somewhere to make everyone happy. The special on was perfect for our needs and theywere open! We’re able to get drinks for mixers we needed. The person that brought it was lovely! I took photos and am postingbefore I finished eating. I ordered a grandpa pie tonight, and it was nothing short of awesome. There’s a lot of heart and soul that goes into this... place, and it really does show in the sauce. I want to say the sauce on this pie had a bright plum tomato sweetness, which wasaccented by nice slivers of garlic and fresh veggies. It was really something special. Pizza places can be a dime a dozen, butbe sure not to miss out on this one, because it has a great range of menu options (including vegan!) and really makes excellentfood. Read more
Good thin crust slice, flavorful and well balanced sauce. 2 thumbs up on the pepperoni pinwheel. I guess when the owner makes... his own pizza you gotta expect it to be good. This is a no frills pizza spot, a real gem. Read more
Called 30 mins after the delivery was supposed to arrive, and they told us the food is on the way. The food didn’t still show... up a total of 1.5 hours later. Called again and asked them why they lied to us the first time. Wasn’t truly sorry. Edit:Order was correct, but there was a huge piece of onion skin in the pizza. Read more
I’ve eaten here for years, and to this day it’s the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. No other shop could even come close to... Jimmy’s, and that’s coming from someone whose life is pizza. I always recommend this shop to everyone, and will always keepmy loyalty here. Read more
