This was the coolest hotel I?ve stayed at hands down. I missed my over night flight out of New York so needed a close hotel so... this was the best option for me as you can shuttle here. Paid nearly $400 for a night (ouch). The room was was super clean andcomfortable. I didn?t take any pics of the room cause I forgot. But just everything about this hotel was everything! Thefood/dining area is open 24/7 and has amazing options! I would 10/10 recommend it here. Read more

I loved getting to stay here, finally! I walked around awhile and just soaked it all in. I love the preservation of the history... of the place. They've incorporated the 60's era into much of the decor and the story they tell. The one negative for me is thehipster elements in the rooms, like not having a closet, steamer but no iron, and walk-in showers that can't help but leave thebathroom floor wet. At the same time the rooms have 60's era light fixtures and rotary dial phone, which work well with thetheme. It's a curious mix. Personally, I left feeling a sadness at the loss of the airline that is the hotel namesake. I amproud to have served it as a pilot for 12 years until it was sold to another carrier. Thank you for preserving and telling a bitof our story! Read more

This place is a gem right out of the 60s and I think as a hotel, it has a lot of potential. The architecture is stunning and the... hidden exhibit rooms are really cool! The rooftop pool is a great spot, too, but they did try to charge us for just being upthere which we figured out was to prevent crowding. Service could be better. The staff looked pretty jaded about being thereand I would have liked to see a little enthusiasm and smiles, especially for such a groovy place! The rooms were nice, too andhad great views of the runway. The overall polish of the building could be improved upon too. A bit more cleaning around thevents and nooks, plus sending the sparrows that lived in the building back outside. They were cute birds, but not what you wantto see in an indoor hotel. Read more

The entrance to the hotel from the Air Train is disappointing. The evergreen shrubs are littered with trash. It?s not a great... first impression. Signage is awful. The architecture is incredible and it?s worth spending a long layover here, rather than inthe airport. However, it?s overpriced and beginning to show it?s wear and tear in a brief time. The shaded in the room areincredible noisy, poorly fitted and work improperly. They are not calibrated so one of the three panels may be shorter or longerthan the others. Wires are visible hanging from the ceiling. You will want to put the shades down because the windows are notTinted and people on the outside can see right in. It takes a long time for hot water to come out of the shower (total waste ofwater). The towels are excellent. They are big and plush. The room design and lighting Is great but there are only two hangersand four hooks. There is in closet and no safe. The doors are really heavy but do not offer much sound insulation from thetypical socially inept fellow guest who screams down the hallway at 4am or slams his door. In my room, every time someone openedor closed a nearby door, mine would rattle. I solved this by placed a damp towel at the base. There is no trash can in the mainroom. Just a sort of placemat on the desk with two sides. Recyclable and trash - gross. Service in non existent. They do notanswer the phone. Read more

1. Rude staff completely ruined my trip 2. To go to the pool costs around 30 dollars. Even to sit down costs 30 dollars. To sit... at the bar costs 15 dollars. This is for hotel guests. 3. The walls are paper thin. 4. The rooms are tiny but have a greatview of the runway. The hotel itself deserves 5 stars. However it needs a real restaurant not a food court. The food courtmakes it like a motel 6 although the food is good. The service is horrendous. The checkin person didn't even say hi when weapproached the counter. He just barked "I'm going to need your id". He was extremely cold and rude and bordered on actuallybeing mean. This immediately made me not want to book this hotel again regardless of how cool the building and views are. Italso made me feel terrible. I just got off an 18.5 hour flight I don't need some arrogant counter boy being mean to me. Maybeit's just New York. The whole management of the upper deck with the pool is terrible. I already paid 500 dollars for the room. Why should I have to pay 30 to go in the pool. Being a hotel guest should get you access to everything. Even going to get drinkscosts 15 dollars. This is to have the privilege to sit at the bar and does not include drinks as far as I know (maybe I'mwrong). Read more

This place was awesome and way better than what I was expecting!! Our room was retro looking - very comfy bed and a great... shower. We loved the TWA history all over the hotel as well. The Connie bar was amazing - I?ve never been in a bar like that!Only 2 things were disappointing - the $25 fee for the rooftop pool for guests (per person!) and the coffee bar and juice placewas closed all weekend. Very nice hotel to stay at! Read more

Hotel was very cool and interesting, very well decorated and in theme, but rather expensive for the size of the rooms. You also... have to pay for access to some of the amenities like the rooftop pool and bar which is a bit of a bummer when the cheapest roomis over $400. The rooftop pool was very cool with a view of the runway to watch planes come into the airport. Definitely a funniche blast to the past but with a high price tag... Very convenient to the airport though if you need a quick in and out anddon't care about the price. Read more

This place is amazing! We did a "day tripper" pass on a long layover and it was well worth it! The rooftop pool was great and... there were a lot of food and drink options within the hotel. The room was very clean and the decor/design of the hotel was supercool. Terrence at the front desk was super helpful and friendly. We will definitely do long layovers here in the future and hopethat these hotels start popping up in more cities! Read more
