Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. My filet was a bit overcooked but still tasty. My companion said the brick chicken was... fantastic. Overall we had a very pleasant dining experience. Read more

I wish I could love it. Because the service was great and the food not terrible. But the DJ played so loud that we couldn't read... or talk. It's clearly catered to a party audience, which we didn't expect. We came for a relaxing weekend to wind down fromwork. That didn't happen. Also many of the orders come in single use plastic cups or with plastic silverware. Which doesn't feelclassy and shouldn't happen at all at a beach hotel. Read more

Heard about this hotel from family members who spent a weekend here a few months ago. Our order: octopus, fish tacos, their... version of Mexican street corn (elotes) not on the cob with mexy inspired cotija cheese and chili etc., Hamburger with fries(when fries are perfect you skip the 3 star world of reviews to 4) and dressed up greens. ???? The ambiance and crowd were amazing! Beautiful decor. Great staff, attentive. The main dish was fabulous. The appetizer was... under cooked and the cost a bit high for portion size. Read more

The Pool House is located in the lobby of the Rockaway Hotel which is the only one of its kind in the Rockaways. I like what... they are doing, but it?s quite obvious they don?t have a professional chef and plating has not been fully thought out. I hadthe eggs on toast - it wasn?t even worth taking a picture of. What looks like 4 scrambled eggs on a slice of toast with ahandful of bacon served in a shallow salad bowl. Seriously, this kind of plating will turn off your customers. My son had theAçaí Bowl - this was perfectly served however the only Açaí Berry was the flavor in the yogurt. My son called it a yogurtparfait. This place is lacking creativity in its brunch department. Now for the good stuff - There is valet parking offeredhowever we found street parking and didn?t need to take advantage of the valet. Both of the maître d?s were perfect at whatthey do - pleasant, extended friendly gestures and work to get us a table that was pleasing for our called in reservation. ThePool House has a beautiful, full stocked, open-air bar. The music for Sunday brunch was on point, a bit of Caribbean flarewhich works well with the beachy atmosphere. Our waiter was not warm and friendly but we have a number of employees, whichincludes an older gentleman who stopped at our table to make sure that everything was ok. Why would I return, if one may ask. It?s simple - I wouldn?t mind trying dishes from their lunch and dinner menu and I would definitely like to take advantage ofthe bar and enjoying that beachy atmosphere. When someone decides to create something this nice for the public to enjoy, it?sthe public?s responsibility to support and keep it alive. That?s an obligation I impose on myself, hoping they will improve asthe summer season 2021 ages. Sadly I can not give this restaurant a 4 star because of the quality and plating of the food Ireceived. Good luck to the owners and I shall be back. Read more

Beautiful bar/dining area with a good selection of cocktails, mocktails, beers and wines. We tried the chicken wings, sliders,... fries and brussel sprouts, and they were all delicious. The main thing that made this such a wonderful experience for us was thestaff. We came with our one-year-old and were a little worried the place wouldn't be super welcoming, but the staff bent overbackwards to make our visit enjoyable. We left early, because we know most diners don't want to be around babies, but there wasa live band getting set up at 6PM, which looked really fun. Read more
