I always wanted to go here and it was my first time. I had the spicy chicken buttermilk biscuit (with added bacon and cheese)... and a sweet iced tea. The biscuit sandwich was really good and the spicy chicken wasn’t too spicy at all and the chickenwasn’t dry (that’s good).The iced tea was good but nothing to blow your mind away. Their style of service was different fromwhat I’m used to. On the table you’re seated at, there’s your table number and a QR code to get the menu. My son found this place while looking for the best chicken & waffles on google a few months ago and had a good experience. I was... lucky to get leftovers - a chicken strip and quarter waffle. Even cold it was yummy! Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago whenhe said he wanted to take me to Sweet Chick on my birthday weekend. How could I refuse - chicken & waffles with my son - heckyeah! We drove over from Kew Gardens and were fortunate to park right across the street. It did not seem busy so we sat uponarriving. There are no menus. You have to scan a QR code on the table and place your order. If you want a drink not on the barmenu you can ask the bartender and they will take care of it…even add it to your table bill. The place is casual and has anice vibe. All was well until the food arrived. We both ordered chicken & waffles with different sauces and a few sides. Myson, 15, enjoyed his meal which made me happy. I did the best I could not to show I was disappointed with the plate. Thewaffles were sitting around a bit - soft and crushed as if sitting in a pan. The chicken strips were twice fried, hard with thecrunchy outside so tough I was afraid I was going to break a tooth. Needless to say it was not a pleasant “food”experience. I ate what I could. Even the sprouts were underdone. But the fries were on target and the workers friendly. I wasamazed that the food was NOT made to order. I expected a hot freshly made waffle and tender tasty chicken. It was barely warm.I really hope your dining experience is better. Could have been an off day for them. Saturday is not a good day to be off point.It might be a while before I trek back into Astoria for a trip to this Sweet Chick location but I gave an extra star because Iwas happy just to be out and about with my son! The 3 piece combo with brussels sprouts made for a nice lunch. The chicken was fried nicely with no excessive grease and the... biscuits were moist and came with strawberry jam on the side. The brussel sprouts with sliced almonds were a fine complimentwith entree. Read more

Nice atmosphere with amazing playlist. Order by scanning code and food is out quickly. Drinks were amazing flavorful. I order... chicken and waffles ...chicken juicy and waffles crispy, so perfect for me. Definently a place to return...the bathroom is cleanand you cant help but to check out the wall of fame on the wall. It adds so much character to this restaurant. My family saidthe Nashville hot chicken and grilled Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese was really good too. Friendly staff!
