Excellent experience. Did the sushi omakase. Wayne was a great chef. We loved how he honored the fish, accenting each one with... creative flavors but not overwhelming them. There were no crazy toppings- just pure, fresh and minimal. Kind service as well.Will probably go back to try the kaiseki. Read more
Wow, what a fantastic dining experience. Koyo very quickly made its way to the top of my omakase list. Food was impeccable–you... can really taste the high quality ingredients (even the uji matcha from Hokkaido was amazing.) Some highlights: the wagyu (ofcourse), the ceviche-esque fish dish (sigh, wish I got the names better), and a couple nigiris. Everything was so well done. Wealso got two bottles of the recommended sake pairing. Speaking of recommended, service was fantastic! Our server and the chefswere super knowledgeable and friendly. A really remarkable dinner! Omakase for $150 includes 12-16 courses. Koyo rotates their menu seasonally to incorporate new dishes and fresh catch from... different regions in Japan. Came to expect the exceptional experience and turned into a bit of disappointment. After I had a few dishes, I felt a roughness... in my throat. And this was never resolved during the entire experience. To be honest, I rather spend the money in other place.If you expect a certain quality of Onakase in this restaurant, please check other places. Very dissapointed for the Omakase with $170 plus tax and tip. First 3 appetizers had no taste and they did not whet any... appetite. All sushi had no taste. A few of them were fishy and not fresh. Was the Uni from Hokkaido???? No taste. Could noteven finish the soup. The taste was herb and the soup did not go with the Sushi. Chef should rather serve traditional misosoup at the end. They really need major improvement or decrease the prices. Read more
