Truly the King. The chatni and the falafel rice were amazing and homely. Pair it with Tacos next door and you are set.
This is food made with genuine love. The produce is fresh and everything on the menu is packed with flavor. I order the... falafel over rice with white and green sauce at least 4 nights/week. Ahmed puts lots of care and passion into making the bestfood possible. He stays open for long hours and has built a wonderful community of fans. Food is excellent! I ordered a mixed plate over brown rice and not only is the food Amazing but the entire experience was great!... He answered any questions I had since I was undecided (too hungry to make a decision I guess) but I?m only 2 bites in and sohappy with my food that I need to review now! Honestly, I would come here just for the guy that owns/works here. Friendly funny personable dude who often gets me confused... with someone else but that could also just be a method of customer service. I hope haha Their mixed platter is on point and theydid increase their prices recently just FYI but it?s definitely worth it. Their hot sauce is also quite mild so I hope they makea spicier one someday. Other than that, 10/10 for food+service. Read more
There are many Halal joints in Astoria but this joint takes the cake! Quality & quantity is there and for a throwback reasonable... price of $7 a platter with a soda..nuff said! Wow!! Best halal food I?ve ever had, seriously better than any other street cart in NYC. The owner, Ahmed, is so kind and funny... that it just made the whole experience that much better. He told us we were gonna love it, and I was not disappointed. If youhaven?t been here, you?re missing out. It?s now located on 30th avenue in front of the Rite Aid, and he said he?s open from 4pm-2am. Definitely my new go to spot! Read more
