Definitely not authentic dosa. Mystery dosa has some red powder which is definitely not mysore. They give some red chutney sauce... on side.. not south Indian at all. Sambhar comes out cold and has no flavor to it. Size is big but taste is not that great Read more
First time at Hillside Dosa Hutt and I?m so impressed! Usually I go to Usha?s for my dosa cravings, but wanted to give this spot... a try. Go up to the counter to grab a menu, order at counter, but they will bring food to you and you pay after your meal (cardminimum $10). The lady by the cashier was very friendly and helped explained the differences between each dosas. PSA: they willbe closed the month of Sept 2022. Pani Puri ($6) you get around 7 pieces with your order, a bit on the pricier end. BUTdefinitely worth the price - I would order 2 next time. They were nicely spiced (some heat, but not overly spicy), tangy andsweet. The puri was deliciously crunchy and tied up the dish perfectly to fit in your mouth in one bite. I always get MysoreMasala Dosa, and they did not disappoint. The dosa was crunchy on the edges and softens up from the potato steam towards thecenter. I also ordered the Onion Chili cheese Masala Dosa - if you?re a cheese fan, definitely order. You will get a nice cheesepull with every bite. Personally couldn?t eat all of that cheese in one sitting, so the Mysore masala dosa is a favorite. Bothdosa came with Sambar (lentil stew) which came out piping hot and 2 chutney. Unfortunately they were out of gulab for the dayand the lady recommended trying Ras Malai. No idea what it is but it?s like a sweet cake in cold sweet milk - very good, glad Ionly got one bc it?s pretty sweet but def is a cherry on top for the meal. 100% will be back soon and bringing my family! Excellent. Delicious dosa, appealing presentation, helpful staff, and brilliant service. This place is really good option for... vegans. ???????????? ???? ???????? I would like to drop a suggestion if you could change your tea ?? consistency by adding agood amount of full fat milk, as the time I had it felt like water with very very skimmed milk tea. A second suggestion wouldbe, I ordered chilli cheese ???? dosa, there wasn?t any chilli if you could do something about it or try to make it in adifferent way with some red chilli flakes or green chilli it would for sure stand out with the name. My wife and I typically go to get Dosa?s in Long Island at Dosa World in Hicksville. We really wanted a crispy Dosa with spinach... on top (like we get at Dosa World), but the staff informed us that if they made it that way, it would make the Dosa soggy.Moreover they let us know that most likely the experience at Dosa World we were speaking of is not an authentic Spinachexperience. Nonetheless, we asked the Spinach paneer to be on the side. It was excellent! They were so generous with how muchSpinach Paneer they gave. I appreciated the staff?s insight into this. I loved the hearty pondichery masala dosa. Also, the mainstaff (he had a man bun) was incredibly friendly, patient, and had great customer service.
