More feedback for the owner, after inquiry. The pizza here is sub-par, though the crust was good, the cheese tasted watered... down and had no flavor. The tomato sauce also had no flavor. What else can be said, if you can't get the basics rights youshouldn't be running a pizza shop. All I wanted was a good ???? pie and what I got was suffering that I had to drown in hotsauce to make paletable. -- The Pizza here is alright. I am assuming most people come here for the pasta, which I have yet totry. So far, my review is based on a large pepperoni pie, will update in the future after a few more visits. The service wasgreat, I ordered over the phone and was able to place my order with ease and the pickup was seamless too. The restaurant wasn'ttoo busy during dinner hour. Read more

Food was great. I was disappointed with the quality of service I received. This business can really be the best if they... implement good customer service skills such as smiling, greeting with showing happiness of giving service. Don't do rude thingsto customers because if their ethnicity or whatever it can be. Everyone walks your door you should be glad and happy to giveservice please fix customer service and coach old skinny man with shorts white hair to be more pleasant. Thank you Read more

Many years ago, when I was a kid growing up in Rego Park, Avellino was our local pizza place, and my mom would send me over... their every other week or so to carry home a large pie for dinner. I haven't been there in about 30 years because I've lived inFlorida, North Carolina, and Virginia. I'm back in town and met two friends for dinner last night. One suggested Avellino, and Imust say, it was wonderful returning to a beloved restaurant. The food is still great and very reasonably priced. I had thegnocchi with pesto and bolognese sauce. Excellent, and I'm more than old enough to have a beer with dinner now as well. Myfriends enjoyed their entrees too. The staff there was very friendly and took wonderful care of us. It was an unexpectedpleasure to discover, in these uncertain times, that a gem from my past still sparkles as brightly today. Read more

$30 large pizza. It was literally the most soggy greasy pie I have had in my life. Can someone in forest hills please step up... and make a decent pie!? We have not one good pizza joint. Read more

it cannot be called a pizza, it's a piece of chicken dough, it's a chicken pie, it's a chicken sandwich drenched in a lot of... sauce, it has nothing to do with pizza! if you have been to Italy and you know what real pizza is, then it is better to chooseanother place so as not to disappoint yourself Read more

I support my local, neighborhood businesses and I'm glad Avellino's is one of the few traditional pizzerias still in business. ... I met Mr. Avellino and staff and they all love and tend to their business equally. My orders whether at the restaurant, pick upor delivery never disappoint: Avellino's menu choices and pizzas are delicious and through the SLICE App we got our deliverysooner than indicated, piping hot and tasty.
