Walked in, place was kind of dark and dingy, large bowls of only chicken salad, and tuna in the dark refrigerated case. So... unappealing, Why would this place get four stars? Read more

Walked in on a Friday morning, the place looks really sketchy, no bagels on display, fridge looked empty. I would not eat here.

I ordered directly from Wendy Peng via Facebook messenger and picked up from Ace Bagels Cafe. The decor is outmoded, tiny but... clean and the staff was friendly. The options on the menu were limited but they all look so attractive and it took me 2 days todecide what to order. We had her signature cake sandwiches with Mochi, salted egg sauce and pork floss for $20. The cakesandwiches were so delicious, especially for the salted egg sauce on the day we picked up. However, the taste was little off thesecond day. There are 6 pieces in one order so it’s difficult for 2 of us to finish within a day. Customers can also reachout to the owner via WeChat to order her pastries and desserts. Read more

This place is right near my school, which is a high school. This means that so much kids are there, in the mornings, afternoons... and on half days. I love it here and this place is very nice. But there is limited seating. The bagels have a low price and theyare great. They have other food besides bagels. Overall, it is a wonderful place. Read more

I hadn't been around this area in a bit. But I'm very familiar with it having gone to school at Queens College. I was taken in... by how NY Presbyterian has expanded from where it originally started. They have spread through main st and seem to have boughtup houses and turned them into medical offices. Same thing has happened in Astoria I think, where Kaufman studios has expandedand bought real estate for their shoots or to house actors. I can only imagine how much the rent will be going up as a result. How can any of us compete with a hospital or movie studio? But as the hospital expands it means more jobs, as evidenced by thenumber of people I saw in scrubs or in nurses outfits, before 7am. This will in turn give rise to more businesses like thisone, a small breakfast place. The bagels seemed freshly made. There are two tables for two, so it isnt a sit in place per se. My sausage and egg took a min but that reassured me that it was being made fresh. My black coffee was exactly what I expected. So no complaints. For less than six bucks, it was a very reasonable breakfast that I couldnt even finish since the roll was sopacked. There is always the question of consistency for me - if I came here everyday, would the food always be of thisquality? But based on this visit, if you're looking for a hot breakfast in the area, cant go wrong here. Read more

Food made reasonably quickly - however I wouldn't call this a really solid deli sandwich counter. I ordered hot pastrami on a... roll, which is on their board. It didn't occur to me that that was exactly what I was getting, no more, no less. A roll, hotpastrami contained therein, straight up. Didn't offer me cheese, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onions, peppers - all thosesandwich things? Also ordered onion rings, they were okay - you know, typical cheapo onion rings, nothing extraordinary. Nosauce? Wasn't offered mayo or tartar sauce or anything? Ketchup? Mustard? Anything? Who orders "a sandwich that is a roll withhot pastrami and nothing else" and onion rings, eaten dry? To me, a deli counter asks about options. I was asked "Toasted?" and"To stay or go?" That's it. What the heck! Ask questions! Dry sandwich, dry onion rings, good grief. In retrospect it was likeordering from a computer programmed with Basic. Read more

This place has unfortunately disappointed me the last couple times I've been there. While the staff are very friendly, the... service is ridiculously slow. Today I actually saw someone walk out and leave after waiting for more than ten minutes for heregg on a roll order. Luckily, today I only ordered a bagel with cream cheese and coffee so it only took five minutes for myorder. And what's up with all of the high school kids loitering here? There are only about four tables and they hang out allmorning during the rush without ordering. So annoying that none of the staff says anything. Read more
