We didn't planned to eat there but we tried and the staff offered us a great table in the library of the casttle whicj was the... old office of Maurice Duplessis, the Canadian Prime Minister in 1936, according to the staff Who welcomed us warmly with a cupof proseco. Marc André and his colleagues were really friendly and make us feel at home in this wonderful casttle. We reallyenjoyed the place. Also, the 5 services were delicious but we mostly enjoyed the scallops, the risotto and thedessert. We got reservations at this restaurant since we were hotel guests. There isn?t a dress code enforced and the staff was really... nice and friendly. The price is hefty and the food isn?t a lot so our bill ended up being $500 with only 2 drinks. We had the5-course meal, the beef, the duck breast (which was delicious) and the pasta. The food came out slow, especially because we hadto wait for our friend who had the 5-course meal (which came with 3 appetizers). In total we probably spent 3 hours there (wegot there at 7:45 PM) and the restaurant was freezing. Overall good experience and great location. Food was delicious andexpensive. Read more
Very nice ambiance and service. We got served a glass of champagne as we were seated at our table. Restaurant is decorated in a... victorian vibe. Food is nicely presented and portions are fair. I was expecting a little bit more in terms of flavors though. Inpictures below, there are scallops, lobster bisque, risotto and lamb steak. I can?t remember what is the green soup :p. Scallopscould?ve had some extra spices. Lobster bisque is a bit on the salty side and nothing too extraordinary with the risotto andlamb steak. Read more
Oh my, the Champlain restaurant offers the most amazing brunch that isn?t just a meal, but rather an experience! We had a nice... table located in the terrace area, this place had great views and lots of light. I was amazed by the old world charm. I lovedthe stone walls and wooden window frames, the cups and tea pot match the designs located on the ceiling (I have never seen thisbefore) The food tasted flavourful, and was plated exceptionally well. At first I thought the service was slow and thenrealized during the meal it wasn?t ever meant to be a quick experience ( I forgot it was a 5 course meal) we were completelyfull as there is so much food! All the servers were friendly, explained the menu items to us and spoke both French andEnglish. They only offer the brunch on Sundays at this point, so I can?t stress enough to make a reservation! The price forthis experience is well worth the value (We paid an additional charge for the mimosas). Make a reservation today you won?t bedisappointed! Read more
This was an underwhelming experience. For such a fine dining experience and atmosphere and not to mention the hefty price tag,... the expectations were sky high. Sadly, they were not met. The food was good but not exceptional in any way, the meal took fartoo long to complete and at the end of it all we were still hungry! Read more
Was lucky to get a table at the last minute. Many thanks to the 14th floor concierge. Good smoked salmon and shrimps, excellent... beef Wellington, lamb was a bit dry, pastry desserts were amazing in quality and variety. Great place made greater by anoutstanding service thanks to Etienne. Read more
