So, it was cool and a bit dark in here which wasn't a problem, BUT with the added depressing live musician, it killed our fun... party vibe! The live musician literally played every song depressing and somber, and then at one point mentioned the next songwas for his friend that comitted suicide... just not the fun Put-in- bay vibe at ALL! Our service was good though prices arehigh, to be expected on the island. Not splitting checks is also pretty antiquated since we all know every modern POS systemdoes this VERY easily. Gratuity is auto added of course for groups (expected) but there is also a RESORT FEE tax, which I hadnever seen before, and didn't incur anywhere else. They did seat our big group quickly, and service was good as I said. 2 of ourterriyaki bowls had SUPER overcooked lump rice. Otherwise we enjoyed our food. Shrimp and grits were very tasty. Read more

Food was good, maybe I should have gotten the fish... Overall, it wasn't as good as I remembered. Wait staff was sassy, but... again, given the amount of bar-hoppers, maybe that's to be expected. It was cute once but she was sassy the whole visit. I lovethe open concept though and obvious history of the restaurant! Would go again to try different food! Read more
Sean d is an amazing server he was very helpful and had a great attitude about the amount of questions me and my girlfriend ... asked due to her being vegan the veggie burger wrap chef Drew invented for us is a master piece and I feel it should be put onthe menu thank you for all the help chef drew even took time out of his busy day to thank us for the compliment on his mastercooking and I highly recommend boathouse to everyone Read more
Dinner was delicious and if you're lucky like we were you will get Mike as a server and that will make a great meal even better.... I ordered the Jambalaya with the extra shrimp and it was delicious, I couldn't help myself though when it came to my wifeloaded tots... I mean I only had a few, or half but who was counting. Server was great. Food was good. Very coastal tourist pirate vibe. Theres a nice stage, where they probably have entertainment... on weekends and holidays. My beer came in a disposable plastic cup, though my ice water came in a glass. Sometime this would bean issue, but the establishment was a warm inside... and it would have been substantially toastier on the patio. Colder A/C anda glass for beer and you'd have 5 star. Side note for clean freaks or persons sensitive to dust; the building is a refurbishedhanger with a ceiling that's coated in a sprayed insulation, due its texture is challenging to clean; therefore, covered indust. Fantastic bar, service and food. Due to being on a business trip on the mainland, I was a party of one at the bar for lunch. ... No problem, a nice lady took my order then stuck around to chat. I appreciated the conversation, the beer was cold and then thefood came out. Wow! Cajun Mac-n-cheese was outstanding. The noon crowd was older, like me, with day drinkers dancing to theoldies tunes. It was festive but not raucous, just people having a good time. One of these days I intend to bring my wife toSouth Bass Island and I know right were to take her for a good meal...The Boathouse! Came here for dinner and drinks twice over the course of our weekend. Bar is large, live music, comfortable and spacious area... for socializing. Prices aren't bad on drinks at all and the overall atmosphere is generally upbeat and exciting especially asthe night grows later. Staff is pleasant as is those drawn to the boathouse. Always fun crowds. Very clean. Sadly, the foodjust isn't good. We had a group of seven and this was the consensus of the entire group. Most got the burger, which was the mostdisliked. Dry burgers, hard buns. Steak and tenders were just OK. The fries were fantastic and we all agreed on that much, but,good fries couldn't salvage an entire party dissatisfied with food quality especially as it was our first choice of dinner atthe bay. In addition the time to serve was wildly slow and it wasn't busy at all. This would have been less of an issue if thewait was for something of quality but it just wasn't. We'd return to drink and hang out after hours or to watch live music butwe would likely choose elsewhere for our food options in the future. Read more
