Reviews for Jorge's Sombrero in Pueblo, CO
Fantastic margaritas! Probably one of the best I've had. The food was ok. I got the ghost pepper chili rellenos but they were... not very hot, which was a little disappointing. My friend got their version of the loaded nachos which were decent. Anotherfriend got the combo of a taco, small burrito and rice. She thought it was pretty decent too. We had to ask several times forchips and salsa and the salsa was in a bottle. But this is where Obama came and ate, so it was cool to see the table. Andobviously the margaritas. Come here for the margaritas!! Read more
Shameful behavior conducted by the business owner!! I am a long going patron of this restaurant who also happens to be... currently ranking in the top 10 percent of Mexican restaurant reviewers for Google! Going here, I had thought surely was a slamdunk.. However, as a party of 6, including 2 guests from Denver. Everyone?s dishes came out except mine (carnitas plate). WhenI questioned it, I was met with a strange response from Jorge where he started stating that they didn?t have carnitas, only toredirect his statement to say that it would be out shortly. Unfortunately, when it arrived, the pork was obviously rancidtasting and smelling and looking! When I brought that to his attention, I was met with a very defensive argument from him, afterwhich, he took the plate and planted his nose in it, stating it was fine. I told him he was free to eat it then, so heimmediately grabbed a handful and stuffed it into his mouth. As he attempted to eat it, I?m sure it was clear to him that I wasright. Instead of apologizing however, he got even more defensive and rude by getting in my face yelling ?I don?t know what youwant me to do about it; I?m busy!? I finally did get a replacement meal from the other waitress (which I was charged for). Hehad every opportunity to apologize for the spectacle he made of himself, but instead chose to glare at me the whole while, evenon my way out. They have lost our (extended family) business forever! Our entire party was appalled and left in disbelief that abusiness owner would conduct himself in that manner. ? Read more
Updated 08-25-22 This was one of our favorite places to eat. We visited today , the entire staff looks to have been replaced .... Jorge i believe was there and he is extremely rude sat people that arrived after us before us ( there was no wait ) and wasshort and rude to his employees we seen him interact with. Once sat our menus were dirty , they messed up our only alcoholicbeverage right off the bat. Meal took forever, portions were meger even for inflation. The taquitos used to be 6 now there are3 and mostly Tortilla. And the jorges my favorite was mostly tortilla and beans little meat no toppings. Just a totaldisappointment, we will not be returning and were bummed. Good luck to those that continue to venture. Read more
This place use to be good until thier prices became to rich for my taste , then they closed for a minute so I thought " Hey... maybe it has gotten better. To my surprise it got worse the service is so bad ???? ???? The workers run around like they needinstructions and don't get to you right away and the servers are disrespectful ???? I don't enjoy my food thrown at me andpriced way to high and it was alright I won't go back. Seems like we pay more for less value in the restaurants everyone ismoney hungry and have let thier service go down and thier prices are bigger then the meal. So sad to see this in my home town. my wife love the quesadilla, served hot and cheesy. combo #3 is a full meal with tamale, pork with big pepper wrapped in... omelette. I love the spice. I'm just overwhelmed with the soup involved. Jorge's burrito with beef is good for 2. taste ok butnot satisfied with beef quality (frozen ground beef). Maybe chicken is better. Read more
They have always had the best Margaritas...even though they are now in styrofoam. The food was great...lots of flavor. Jorges... burrito was huge and good. Read more
The service is excellent! The taco meat, chicken, ground beef and chipotle is all extremely bland. Mexican food is supposed to... challenge your pallet!!! The chicken tastes like it was boiled in water with no seasonings. They offer two taco shells, corn andflour. The corn is definately more crunchy. The flour was good, but more on the chewy side. The refried beans are over salted, but very tasty. Chips and salsa arrived in a bowl and dispenser. The salsa is fresh, and made from ristra chilies and water. They need to make it less watery.... Overall, spouse and I were disappointed with the meal... $30.00 for 5 tacos, water, tea,and chips and salsa and a side of beans. We did see some amazing looking chimichangas, and enchiladas come out of the kitchen.Hopefully they were not as bland for their customers... My wife likes bland food... I like habanero peppers... she commented itwas too bland for her. Note to chef... learn to use some spices other than salt! Read more
