We stopped here for dinner on a Tuesday. The restaurant was clean and cozy. The waitress was very nice and efficient. My friend... and I ordered salads with blue cheese and chicken on them. While we waited, we were served dinner rolls and cornbread muffinswhich were excellent. The salads were very good and the beer was cold. There was no rush to move us out. All together anexcellent meal. Two beers and two big salads came to 34 dollars. You won?t go wrong eating here. Read more

Always great to eat at a black eyed pea. This time we were passing through and decided to give this location a whirl. We were... immediately greeted upon entrance and were seated moments later. A very nice gentleman came and took our drink order and gave usour menus. We probably surprised him with our large order as we were traveling and wanted to get a bunch of goodies to take onthe road with us for later. We got the appetizer special it was called the American sampler and everything was totally yummy. Weordered the fried green tomatoes which were a little clumpy and big I would say. I had a charbroiled chop steak which was goodand my husband had the wonderful fried catfish. To top it off I ordered a mile high chocolate cake to go. Got to say when I gotback to the hotel I think I fell into a short coma from all the sweetness. Everything was very good and Anton thanks once againsorry that we kept ordering things like we were eating for a busload of people. We did enjoy our dinner when we got home againthe following day. We will see you again in the future and thank you once again. Read more

Delicious Potato Bowls! The flavor was a good old fashion style pot roast topped with home-style mashed potatoes...(if the... carrots were cut smaller, I would have given them 5 stars.) The sweet potato fries were tasty too! Read more

Surprisingly good! But huge portion sizes. This location looked and was busy but we got seated right away. The menu is typical... American country fare with a mix of some Mexican and Puebloan flavors. We first ordered the fried pickles as a starter. We weretold that they are vertical strips rather than circular and honestly imagined that they would be small vertical strips. As youcan see from the picture, they were gigantic. We got the jalapeno based dip and it was delicious!! I think the dip was 70% ofthe reason we liked our pickles. For the entrees, my friend and I both got the potato bowls. She got the regular chicken oneand I got the Irish pie. Big portions for sure but both were delicious. The mashed potatoes on the top were well done and reallyadded to the dish. My pie had a lot of pulled pork which was very tasty and you had to dig in a bit to get to the veggies. Wefinished about 30% of our portions and took everything else to go. I was actually surprised that I would like this place sinceit is a chain but I did! Read more

The restaurant looks very clean inside and out. Our server was very friendly and checked for specific ingredients for us to... accommodate dietary restrictions. Tons of food options. They also have alcohol. I would eat here again. Read more

Update - my husband spoke with Rich (general mgr) and initially felt like he was being brushed off. I called back, spoke with... Rich and explained how this had affected our 4th. He offered to make things right and we accepted. At least this time I felt helistened! Since this restaurant closed at 3 pm yesterday (July 4) we ordered an early dinner for takeout. (We're on the road, living in hotels while we work). When my husband picked up the order, it appeared everything was in the bag. However, when westarted warming everything up to eat, we found that my vegetable plate had been reduced to just 3 items - steamed broccoli (2pieces), black eyed peas (a third of the container) and fried corn. My sweet potato and glazed carrots were nowhere to be found. My husband had his full order, thank goodness, but couldn't enjoy it because mine was so lacking. I'd actually excuse this errorhad this restaurant been busy (parking lot was only a third full) or if it had been closer to closing (we ordered about 1:30,and picked up about 2 pm). Of course, at 6 pm when we were eating there was nothing but fast food open, which I didn't want toeat. So for the 4th, I ate 2 pieces of broccoli, 1/3 cup of black eyed peas, and a piece of fried corn. Thanks SO much for amemorable holiday dinner! If you order a to-go meal from here, make sure you have what you paid for! Read more
