I was absolutely taken back with how wonderful this place was to stay at. The room have your mini fridge, microwave, coffee... maker and tv. The TV had so many apps, Chromecast and even airplay. The options were amazing. The bathroom was so modern, thetub was huge amazing pressure in the shower. Had a beautiful yard in the back where our dog was able to play. We only hadbreakfast but it was delicious. This place was your own little slice of home. The best of vintage era motels in northern peninsula! Huron Sands has that charm of pulling your car directly in front of your... suite door. Greeted with clean rooms, updated bathrooms, air conditioning, themed decor and vaulted ceilings with generouswindows, it?s an easy space to get comfortable in. Just minutes walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in Ontario. Check inwas easy and Colleen at the front desk was super, and cheery. We ate at the restaurant and had the perogies and Uzbek Plovthe: both fantastic. Little corn & cucumber side salad: distinct & delicious. Served on paper plates? Unexpected but hey, feltlike camping. Pillows: 5.5/10. Beds & linens: 7/10. Drive an EV? There is a level 2 charger available (chargeable). Overall the combo of just enough ?right? without much polish made for a perfect experience. We ate at R&R and it was amazing. The food tasted like love. Everytime I am in Providence Bay and R&R is open that's where I... eat. The Jamaican Patties are lovely, the curry chicken is fantastic. The rice is indescribable and does not last long beforeit's inhaled. This is the place to go if you want food made from the heart and for the soul! Read more
This past weekend(June 24-26) myself and three other cyclist decided to cycle around Manitoulin Island, we decided to start in... Providence Bay and booked at The Huron Sands Motel. We were greeted by Colleen with a friendly smile and open arms. Since wewere starting at 7am, we were hoping to start with a good breakfast however the restaurant didn't open till 8:30. I spoke withthe cook Tanya and she agreed to come in early and have breakfast ready for 6:30. After riding our 200km route, we arrived backat the hotel just before 9pm. Looking for something eat, and nothing open or available in the area, our only option was themotel restaurant however Tanya informed me that she was closing up. But she agreed to return at 10:00 and make us a couplepizzas, where else would you get service like that. She realized that we needed food and went above and beyond. THANK YOU TANYA.I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this motel. Even though the outside is dated, the inside was clean andcomfortable. Read more
We really enjoyed our stay. The vibe of the motel and take out restaurant is cozy and casual. There was lots of choice on the... menu: we tried the perogies, borscht, and fish cakes were tasty. The rooms are large, with windows on both sides that open, anda vaulted panelled ceiling which gives it a cottage feeling. Pet friendly which was a big plus for us. Stayed here for one night in June 2021, forgot to leave a review. Very enjoyable stay. The town and beach is very nice. The... motel room was very nice and clean, the food good and inexpensive, the staff very nice. I was a cyclist needing somewhere dryto spend a night and this was perfect. The motel was a very short walk to the beach which was beautiful and also had a takeout restaurant. The rooms have been recently... renovated and were very comfortable and clean. As we were there just after Labor Day the food choices were limited in the areaas some of the restaurants closed but lots of choice in smaller towns within a half hour drive. The menu at the motel was verylimited. The staff bent over backwards to be helpful and were very friendly. We took our 2 dogs, we found the motel and manyplaces including the ferry were very pet friendly, even the beach has a pet friendly area. I would recommend both the motel andthe island which was beautiful to explore. Read more
