Reviews for Peking Chinese Buffet in Prestonsburg, KY
Excellent service and the food was delicious and so much to choose from. The atmosphere was calming.
I only order and pickup, typically once a week for the past 2 years. Every item I've ordered has been excellent. The vegetarian... items are especially good. Service and staff have always been very nice. Read more
About everything from the buffet taste like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours and after I ask them if they was... bringing out more chicken they did about 2 hads full of the mandarin orange and General Tso's chicken but none of the otherchicken and I was told it was because they was getting ready for dinner. Well you need to take care of the people that isalready there eating before you start catering to people that's not even there yet. This really was a bad visit for me I enjoychinese food but I'll be damed if I pay for food that's hard as a rock again. I suggest you go in and look at the buffet beforemaking a commitment to eating there. If it's fresh it's delicious but if not it's horrible ???? Read more
We had the displeasure of eating there during the lunch and dinner switch. We were told going in that they were switching and no... food would be brought out. We ate there anyway. Later we were told the hot bars were closing but the cold and dessert wouldremain. From the cold bar, we got shrimp. Waitress came and got our bill without saying anything to us. She came back and saidshe would change our bill to dinner. I spoke up and told her that we were told the cold and dessert bar was still accessible. She kept telling me that the shrimp was a dinner item. So she had a discussion with someone and came back and said this time wasok, but next time it was dinner. There will be no next time because I will not eat there again and I will suggest to anyone togo somewhere else. The rudeness and greed of that place is just crazy. Read more
I love Chinese food, and I don?t mean to offend anyone, but that was by far the worst food I have ever eaten in my life.... Everything was cold, bland, and tasteless. I ate a bit of everything; even the sweet and sour chicken was terrible. The staffwas short, rude, and stopped by our table maybe three times the entire time we were there. Then, I legit felt like crying as ourbill for two meals was over $30. It was $16.95 per person I think, and we had gone on a Friday afternoon around 5:30. I reallyhope the owners/chefs see this and make some changes. I am stepping into business ownership here soon as well, and I know howhard things can be. But service wasn?t there, the food wasn?t even warm, and it seemed like everyone hated their jobs. I wishthe best for this place, but as for me, I?d rather skip dinner then to have to dine here again. Read more
Food at this place was ok. Noodle were dry and old. The pepper steak tasted salt and steak . The one in pikevill is better I... think; However this place has more variety. Read more
When you describe restaurants you need to compare them to similar dining experiences in the region. It is not fair to compare a... Chinese restaurant in the Kentucky with Chinese restaurants in San Francisco?s Chinatown. When compared to other restaurants inKentucky, Peking is an exceptionally good buffet. It offers most of the dishes you expect to find. What makes it stand out isthat almost every item is better prepared than you might expect. On two visits the Mandarin Chicken was tender and tasty. Thespring and egg rolls crisp and fresh. The quality of most items exceeded the typical buffet. The atmosphere adds to anenjoyable meal. Like the sister Peking restaurant in Pikeville, it is well decorated and clean. Both are excellent stops fortravelers wanting something different. Read more
Less than honest folks and less than great food. Let's get right to it. When we were checking out for our 2 adult buffets the... hostess rang us out and asked if we wanted to leave a tip, of course the answer was yes. We were handed our receipt to which thehostess automatically had applied a 20% tip. While this type of gratuity is customary practice for large groups it is not for 2people eating at a buffet. So on the $30.00 bill was a $6.00 tip. The food: looked okay, tasted bland. Not a lot of variety;there were more "western" foods then there were Chinese. The salad bar looked wilty and the General Tso's chicken was so toughit pulled a knife on me and demanded my wallet. I guess that's what you get for having dinner at a stripmall buffet. Read more
