Rarely have a bad cookout experience. My chicken nuggets were old, cold, and greasy, and my fries were nearly invisible. At... least my hush puppies were fresh and hot. I realized 13.00 later my cashier didn't offer "suggestive" sell options; I purchaseda huge, drink, hush puppies, fries, and nuggets. I wish she would have offered it to me in a tray. I love cook out. I?ve been eating here since I?ve moved to VA. I wish they had one in NY. The only bad thing is sometimes they... may forget a sauce but the food is always good and the service is quick and polite! You can never go wrong ordering from here. Read more
Came at 11:00pm on a week night fries and chicken was fresh and hot. Drive-thru employee was kind and polite. Happy I choose to... come here for a late night bite. Quality has plummeted. I am, and maybe now was, a big fan of Cook Out. I took my son out to the local Cook Out, 4015 Victory... Blvd, Portsmouth, VA 23701 and ordered our usual double burger. When we got gnome, very disappointed. The 2 burger pattiescombines barely measured 1/4' thick, were over cooked and just about crumbled. I will try one more time as this could have beena bad day, not sure. Paying $23 for 2 meals of this poor quality is easy to remedy, I could have gone to Ruby Tuesday or RedRobin and received real hamburger patties, and much more , for the same price. They?re good before 10 pm after is a bad idea. Asked for Cajun fries didn?t get the Cajun but the fries somehow tasted like... coleslaw. Rest of my food was soggy af. But amazing job on the milkshake. Read more
May 19th 2022, 2:00 in the afternoon, I went to this cookout today which I have been there before the doors were locked... drive-thru was wrapped around but went through pretty quick, the times I visited this location the food was very good,, today itwas horrible!!!!!!! I ordered two chili dogs and a order of fries the chili tasted old and burnt, the fries were undercooked andsoggy had to toss them, a bite or two out of the hot dogs, what a waste of $9, the food was just thrown together, not going towaste my money there anymore ???????????? Everytime my husband comes home to Portsmouth he has to get a BBQ pork sandwich. He asked for the slaw to be on the side. ... There is not enough to put on the sandwich. The young lady seemed to not be having a day. My chicken sandwich I ordered was notreceived. WELCOME TO PORTSMOUTH!!!! Read more
Drive through only so there is no "atmosphere." Food is cheap and you get what you pay for. Most of the time. I've had orders... messed up but only noticed when I was miles away. Employees have the minimum level of courtesy allowed. Go to this store if youonly want a mostly accurate and cheapish meal. Read more
