Reviews for Yalla in Portland, OR
Delicious. This is my new go-to when I want something exceptional. Staff is on-point and truly cares about your dining... experience. This is my 3rd time here and each one has left me satisfied and wanting more. Favorite salad (I’ve tried 3):Turkish Carrot Favorite Mezze: Hummus with Burnt Beef Ends (YUM!) The mains….jeeze you can’t go wrong. Below is a picture ofthe Grilled octopus I had and it was outstanding. Very tender, and the Yukon potato’s accompanied it so well, with the blacktahini sauce. Also, if you’re here for happy hour, the current rotating cocktail is killer. I hope they put it on theeveryday menu. Yum. Go here. Read more
The atmosphere is very cool in Multnomah village. The kids pasta wasn’t that great, none of our the kids liked it. The... cheese was pretty strong for kids. Pita and hummus were pretty good. We had the salmon crudo which was pretty good but alittle salty. Lamb and beef kebab was not bad but was more like a sausage. The octopus was a crowd pleaser and very wellcooked. Read more
Yalla is another excellent addition to Multnomah Village in SW Portland. The food is Mediterranean inspired, but with a... twist. We ordered the hummus appetizer along with three entrees, which we shared between three of us. The salmon was perfectlycooked, the homemade pastrami delicious, but the fried chicken stole the show. The cocktails were more than serviceable. I willbe back. Read more
We enjoyed an exquisite meal! Every entree and my cocktails exceeded my expectations. We shared all of our food and started... with a radicchio salad dressed in a buttermilk dressing with rye bread crumbs followed by hummus topped with fresh summer peasand delicious warm pita bread! We then shared the smaller serving of smoked pastrami and rye bread and a smoked short rib thatwas seasoned with a green bean harissa and served with cous cous. The flavors were all delicious. I enjoyed the Yazarakcocktail (Yalla’s take on a (Sazerac). It was so good I had a second one. While I was really full, even taking theleftovers home, I shared a warm chocolate chip cookie that was sprinkled with sea salt. The service was wonderful! I am soexcited to have this restaurant so close to home in Southwest Portland! I have a new favorite. Read more
Enjoyable dinner with the salad and other apps being the highlights. Especially the lubna. Also got the beef short rib which was... pretty but disappointing (and most expensive thing on the menu). If you like Texas bbq style smoked meats then this willprobably be a bit of a let down. Also no sauce of any kind available? Missed opportunity to make a middle-eastern inspired bbqsauce on the side. That said...Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Would recommend everything but the rib. Read more
Great peanut butter porter beer, yum. They serve small dishes so you can order a variety and eat farm style. We tried the beet... salad, kale side dish, eggplant hummus, pesto pasta, and chocolate silk pie. All dishes were superb !!!?????? Read more
Food was wonderful. The hostess and the wait staff were fantastic until a "manager" came to our table and told us we needed to... leave because the party that has reserved our table has arrived. Which I would understand but 20 min later, no one was seatedat our table. Not cool. Read more
I don’t really have much good to say about this place other then the food was “okay” and only a couple of the wait staff... were decent and did their job. Had horrible service, wife was actually escorted out of the bar when she wanted to order a drinkbecause she was at a table out back. Website said happy hour 4-5 in bar and patio, but when we got there and sat out back weweren’t allowed happy hour cause it was apparently only for summer. The waiter took for ever to get our orders, even drinksthat came out and were the same drinks had completely different amount of pours in the drink. Some of the food did look greatthough. Read more
