We tried this place while visiting Portland. This is our first time trying out authentic Indonesian food. I had Malaysian food... before and could relate some of the food names. The place only had couple of parking spots which were full, so we had to dostreet parking. The service was top-notch and quick. When we reached, the place was mostly empty. We ordered Nasi Campur withpork belly and potatoes. We liked the food overall. Although, we expected to get more pork belly than potatoes, but it was theopposite. Read more

Nice atmosphere with extensive, comfortable outdoor seating and Indonesian music and decor. Good service as well- prompt and... attentive and food and drinks arrived quickly. As for the food, it was ok. The menu was authentic but the actual results wereless so. As a note, my wife is Indonesian so we had high expectations. I actually enjoyed my beef rendang but my wife wasdisappointed. Indonesian food is all about spices and she said her nasi campur was lacking and believed the sambal was actuallystraight from a supermarket jar. If you aren?t experienced in Indonesian food- I do believe you will have a good experiencehere. Indonesian food is most similar to Thai or Malay food with some differences of course. Read more
I was asked recently, "What's my favorite restaurant in Portland?" I didn't have an answer. After trying Wajan - I think I have... found my new favorite. They've got a bar and what's more, they offer a signature special cocktail each week. The salad/fruitchanges too but what we had was incredible. I could have eaten it all day. We ordered "family style", intending to share. But Icouldn't. Mine was too good to share. Definitely returning here soon. Read more

I tried the Kari Ayam (chicken in a yellow curry soup with rice noodles) with the Es Teh Jeruk Nipis (black tea and limeade).... Was the perfect meal to warm up now that we?re in our cold and rainy season. Fast service, great flavors, and just enough spice. The portion was practically big enough for two. Definitely coming back here to try more. $15 for the dish, $4.50 for the drink Read more
