I recently had to stop eating dairy, egg, and gluten and was so grateful to have this spot right around the corner! As someone... who ate nachos on the reg, this is my go to when nothing else with satisfy a liquid cheese craving! I am not a huge fan of theflavor of other vegan cheeses, but this is HANDS DOWN the best! Add in delicious beans and sauces and it is as good as any fulldairy version! We just moved away and it makes me sad that I?ll be hours away from this amazing food, but guaranteed I?ll beback when I?m in town! This place ALWAYS has inconsistent hours. Finally tried it and after dishing out $15 for a french taco (which is basically... smaller than their burrito that costs more...hmm...) I was not impressed. It's overloaded with fries, seitan has a weird textureand is extremely dry and hard. Couldn't even finish the other half so I might as well post it here. He tries giving it withthis ketchup-y aioli probably because you're just eating a bucket of fries lol. Read more
I loved this place! I ordered the French taco (I heard V3 was one of the first restaurants to have it on their menu), the... burger, and the burrito. It was all amazing! Considering I am not even vegan, I couldn't even tell that the cheese wasn't vegan!Also big props to the owner who answered all of my questions thoroughly and he is very kind and passionate. V3 is a hidden gem in Portland. The food is inspired by California comfort along with fine dining influence and specials. The... owner is bringing the fine dining experience to everyone! I have tried a few items from the Menu including a mushroom and corntaco special they ran a few weeks ago, unfortunately it was sooo delicious I finished it before I could catch a picture. Let metell you about this taco yall, the mushroom was so flavorful and the texture was absolute perfection, I've found sometimesmushroom tacos can be mushy and not carry much depth or texture, but V3s mushrooms are full of a deep flavor profile and are notmushy at all, the corn is roasted and has a nice crunch which pairs well with mushrooms. Pictured below is the tempeh with Cornand potatoes special, the owner ran today! I truly felt transported to a fine dining restaurant, the presentation was stunningand reminded me of art. The flavor didn't disappoint. The tomato gel adds an incredible burst of fresh acidity that pairsincredibly with the tempeh and roasted potatoes and corn. The tempeh is delicious. The micro greens really complete this dishfor me. The owner also adds some beet powder and from someone who dislikes beets I must say I've never enjoyed beets more!
