While vacationing in Rockaway Beach..we wanted to get a bite to eat once we landed in Portland. We googled V's Soul Food and... saw the reviews ans decided to give it try!!! We ordered the Catfish basket...Hot Link sandwich & cabbage and the Yams!!Everything was sooooo delicious!!! We are from Texas and Mr V cooked everything fresh to order that reminded us of down homesouthern cooking.We even got a chance to sit and talk to Mr V. himself. Excellent food, especially the Red Snapper. Yams are also yummy. Definitely worth the little bit of a wait and the price. V... and the others that are usually around are great. Parking can be a challenge but there are other lots very close by. Definitelywould recommend! Read more

Nope!! You don?t treat people the way I witnessed today. I was getting food Next door to this shack and the owner/ worker... decided it was ok to belittle his neighbor vendor. The shack decided it was ok to have his outdoor bathroom cleaned out whileeveryone was eating Next door. The owner of the establishment I was at went and asked them to park next to the shack on theother side of the parking lot and not in front of her place while customers were eating. He told her he didn?t want her thereanyway. He said he hoped she would lose business. Jeez who says that with all of us customers standing there. Do better guy Read more
Food is so delicious. I got the catfish basket and it was full of flavor. Warm and inviting atmosphere and the customer service... is amazing too. My boyfriend tried to get the ribs, but they were sold out. So we'll be coming back. I highly recommend thisspot. Read more
