Reviews for Toki Restaurant in Portland, OR
Decided to come here with my partner for my birthday as we were visiting from out of town. Arrived on time for our reservation,... but had to wait around 5 minutes before someone actually helped us. It was obvious that the servers on the floor saw us butstill nothing. Started off with drinks but surprisingly enough, we didn’t get them until after 30 minutes. We ordered 4dishes with all of them being served to us very sporadically. The food was good but the horrible service we received had put adamper on our overall experience hence the low rating. Definitely regret booking this restaurant for a birthday. Read more
steamed bao burger was delicious. twisted donuts were also great, and made fresh. I tried each flavor and the dulcey glaze corn... flakes was my favorite. went back for the dinner menu and tried each flavor of the Korean fried chicken wings. The two glazedwings were too sweet for my liking but both the hot chili and the ramen wings were very tasty. Read more
Brunch was delicious! Korean inspired with a little nod to American fare. Inside the restaurant is really cute and the service... was top notch. Had the dalgona coffee, steak and eggs bibimbap, kimchi fried rice, fried chicken sandwich, and donuts. All weresuper tasty. Read more
Awesome one of the best restos in Portland, must try the bao burger (order 2 they are little even if you take it to go) chicken... wings are out of this world, I had the tamarind and they were yummy, sticky, juicy, sweet and a bit spicy. Noodles were alsogood but not at the same level! The cocktails are awesome too, I had the license to dill and it was very tasty and refreshing, also had the Shanghai noon and it was full of flavour I need to comeback and try more food here. This place is certainly worth trying. No, it's not the most traditional food and yes banchan should be included and free, but... the quality of each dish they made was impeccable. The mandu (pork and veggie dumplings) had a great skin and flavor, perfectfor an appetizer. The sundae was also stellar, and wasn't too blood-heavy for those who know sundae. The fried chicken was thestar and I tried the sampler just to try each flavor. Surprisingly the essence of ramen was one of my favorites, and the textureand juiciness of each wing was perfect. When you come here don't expect a traditional Korean restaurant experience, insteadsomething a little more western and fine-diningy influenced, while basing from Korean classics. Would come again. OMG. This place was awesome- food, service, and atmosphere. We saw great Google reviews and had to check it out for ourselves.... The reviews were accurate. Food had amazing flavors, service was some of the best we've had in a long time, and it wasrelaxing and casual. Can't wait to get another bag burger... Read more
I really wanted to like this place. Like really! But part of the bao in the bao burger was straight raw. The beef patty, cheese,... pickles, and onions were great! But the substantial piece of raw bao is a dealbreaker. We kindly let our waiter know so thathopefully no one else gets raw dough in their meal. The Korean fried chicken sandwich was mostly batter and less chicken. Butthe sandwich itself had great texture to it, but I also can’t recommend this sandwich. The omurice was great. Tastedexcellent. I really wanted to like this place. I had high hopes for it. But raw dough is a cardinal sin in a restaurant. Read more
The taste is good, especially the spicy chicken wings with paprika and cumin flavors. The serving size is smaller than... expected, and the taste is still like street food which makes me still feel it’s somehow not worth the price. The lighting istoo dim and the seating is not that comfortable. The server got our dishes wrong once and the waiting time was a little long. Read more
