We’ve been regulars at this place for over a year. We had brunch there last weekend - no mention of closing early today. So we... show up to get our regular brunch during their business hours only to be told they were closed, which was very confusing sincethey are usually open at that time and the newer server yelled “BYEEEEEEEEE” at us as we walked out. Both of which werepretty rude things - closing early without warning and yelling at your customers. Dunno, the vibe has been off the past fewtimes we have gone anyway so I guess we will see what else is in the neighborhood. Read more
I always walk by this place taking my dog to the dog park and stopped in today. I just wanted something quick so I got a lemon... blueberry scone and an iced hazelnut latte to go. Both were delicious. The food looked great and the prices were fair. Staffwere kind and friendly and it was very clean. I will definitely come back to sit down and try their dishes. Read more
The New Deal cafe never fails to deliver fresh and delicious American breakfast dishes. I prefer this cafe to any of the other... breakfast places in a quarter mile radius. An excellent neighborhood cafe. Read more
I came here on a Sunday morning around 10. I was pleased t see no wait. I ordered a house coffee, and the kids breakfast. To my... delight, they offer Stumptown coffee. The folks working the counter were friendly and the food came quickly. I can be pickyabout the amount of moisture on my eggs but these were cooked perfectly. Not wet, but fluffy and moist. The veggie sausage wasdelish. Idk if they make the strawberry jam on house but - YUM. My biscuit was the ultimate finale to a fulfillingbreakfast. Will return. Nap time. Read more
Had a wonderful relaxed brunch on the back patio, sheltered and warmed though still open to air on all 4 sides, felt very safe.... 3 of us had egg scrambles, which were enjoyed (for some reason, they couldn’t make omelettes—not sure if it was due to lackof eggs or lack of staff with skill to make omelettes.) The BLT sandwich was great, as were the blueberry pancakes. Best friedpotatoes I’ve tasted outside my own kitchen. Friendly, accommodating staff. We will be back!! Read more
Great food for breakfast! Order at the counter, where there is a big menu. I got a scramble of the day, which had onions,... peppers, mushrooms, (veggie) sausage, and sundried tomato pesto. I got a side of potatoes and a biscuit, which were very welldone. My accomplice got biscuits and gravy and complained of soggy biscuits from the overly wet gravy. Also unfortunately, thecooks messed up my order the first time by putting in the default sausage instead of veggie sausage (I'm vegetarian). I’ve been going here since I was a kid when it opened and the quality of the food just gets better and better. Very filling... and delicious meals, tasty coffee and drinks, wonderful atmosphere and staff, and reasonable prices. It can get busy but theyhave lots of seating options and do to go orders. Read more
