Solid carbonation on the fountain soda, but it did taste a bit off. The sandwich was okay. The bread was chewy. The meat didn't... really stand out like I was hoping for, and it quickly disintegrated in my mouth as if it had been cut with an industrial sizedcheese grater. The vegetables were cooked well but bland, and the horseradish was far too overpowering for me to taste anythingelse. It also left me with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Luckily, my cheese fries had a side of whiz which became helpfullyintermixable. Unfortunately, the fries themselves were mushy and quick to turn cold. Tiny portions for big bucks. This place has a good reputation but.. bring your savings. I paid close to forty bucks for two... cheese steaks. They were size large on the menu but dinky little things IRL. NOT worth the cost especially because they don’tfill the sandwiches up. Read more

One of the best Cheese steaks I have had in a long time. Being able to have it with Chez Wiz made a big difference. The cashier... was pleasurable to order with and the wait was not long for our food. Many people were picking up and even more in line at 2 pmon a Friday. It's a go to whenever I stop in to Portland. We have been wanting to go here for awhile. We went at 5:30pm on a Friday night. It was very busy with take out orders so we had... a 20 minute wait for food. Staff was upfront about wait time before we placed the order and very friendly. I got the Rough Riderand hubby got the Cheesesteak, the sandwiches were delicious and well worth the wait. We used to come here a lot when we lived up here and couldn’t wait to come back when we were in town recently. Disappointed... was an understatement. The meat on the large size sandwich was skimpy at best and the cheese whiz (for $3 extra) wasnonexistent. I’m hoping it was just an off night and this place hasn’t gone THIS far downhill. Read more
Everytime I visit when it's busy, It seems like I get half the steak in my sandwich..... this has been going on for some time... now. I realize it's busy, but taking some from all sandwich being prepared to make a additional sandwich is wrong at theseprices. This seems like what is going on, otherwise I can't explain it.
