Nice place, bad server. Lost my appetite and ultimately left after having to ask the server to speak to my mother with kindness... after asking what a meal included. The menu doesn?t list what?s in any dish?will never return as long as this server still workshere. She is beyond rude and disrespectful. The time before this I waited over an Hour for her to come back and check on ussince we were outside and you have to order with a server?..ended up leaving, starving. Was the only group of people under ageof 50 - maybe that?s why she ignored us? Assumed we had no money? I guess I?ll never know. That?s not how you treat people. Thesextant was a favorite of mine and many close to me. 2 stars because it?s a good location and the bartenders are always sweet. 1bad apple really ruins the entire place though for me. Cheers. This is my Number 1 Pick for Dating, Meetings and Happy Hour in Portland after an extensive 2 year search. Great... views, beach access for walks, Picnicking, Dating, Sunsetting, etc. Great value. It's next to Salty's which is an expensiveSeafood restaurant also popular for dating, anniversaries, and events. Best value! If you want a beautiful setting during the2022 inflationary economy and can't afford the inflated prices of other places go to The Sextant ... You should go regardless,but if you can afford Salty's you'll go there anyway ??????? I mean its the exact same view and it also has an attentive staff,so? ... All that said .... The Sextant has inexpensive drink prices, great views and you'll see me there once in awhile and wecan go for a walk on the Beach below it ????????????????. To the owner: (not you the customer, don't read ???????? ... yearight, right? ????) Perfect location on the Columbia river, good selection of food. Fair prices and maybe a few planes going overhead. Lol

A great place to stop in for a bite to eat. Great staff, wide variety of menu items to choose from. The food prepared for us was... great. Had the Ceasar salad with blackened salmon and it was perfect. We'll be going back to try more items off of the menu. Read more
Had the Beer battered halibut with fries, garlic bread, and coleslaw. Also had a couple of beers. Cool place with a nice... atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff. Patio opens on April 1st. Also it was happy hour, so discount drinks! Read more
This waterside tavern has tasty food, reasonable prices and friendly service. But its main draw is the fine view of the Columbia... River from the patio. The restaurant interior isn't much to look at, rather dark and dim. But, oh that view! Read more
Our server did great job of accommodating a group of 7 business associates. The food was great, the soups were great, and the... bar drinks were reasonable and timely. For adult travelers it was fun and comfortable. We went back one more time before we lefttown. Read more
