My go to ice cream shop in Portland. During the day, line is not bad at all but in the evening it can be pretty long. Try social... flavors, they are good and available only for a short while. Read more

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. The most wonderfully staffed place I have ever been to; everyone is happy to help... you and helps you right away. Seriously, amazing service. And of course the ice cream is awesome too! I had the salted, malted, chocolate chip cookie dough and it was phenomenal! Read more

It has fun limited edition as well as delicious classic flavors. You are able to get free samples. Service was great, the staff... was very friendly and kind. Price is a little pricey but you had to go at least once. I liked the sea salt with caramel ribbon, chocolate gooey brownie and cold brew flavors. Marionberry coconut is kinda tart. For parking you have to pay for meter. Read more

This ?very Portland? ice cream shop has some ridiculous flavors that inspire an adventurous and playful vibe! I really... appreciate that they want you to taste all the flavors and start asking you what you want to try while you?re still in line togive you enough time to try several before you even reach the counter. (This way you don?t feel like your holding up the line, which is long but does move quickly, and totally worth the wait!) The tasting portions are generous, AND served on real metalspoons (no plastic waste!) ???????? After sampling the strawberry balsamic, deviled egg and fig-brie-cheesecake, I wentfig-brie- cheesecake, but the others were equally good! If I?d have had the calories to spare for all 3 flavors I totally wouldhave gone for it! Also really cool that they offer vegan (non-dairy) options. This is now a required stop nextvisit! ???????????????????? Read more

Very unusual ice cream flavors. Did try the Pear and blue cheese! Did not get that strong of the blues cheese flavor unless you... bite into a blue cheese. The olives flavors is good too. Otherwise, stuck with the usual, but then why are you here ???? Read more

The ice cream parlor is cute and artsy. It's located in the fun and vibrant Alphabet District. The staff are friendly as they... welcome you in and allow you to try different flavors. The ice cream was a bit gummy and chewy, but maybe some people preferthat over smooth and creamy. Loved the brownie and sea salt and caramel flavors! The lavender and honey flavor reminded me ofsoap and lotions. The mint chip ice cream had an interesting after taste that was off-putting. Maybe it's really good ice creamand I just don't have the sophisticated pallet to understand it. Read more

The menu was intimidating at first, but I went for the non-traditional flavors and I am so glad I did! Pear & Blue Cheese was... the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The strawberry balsamic was so surprisingly delicious, sweet tart and creamy. The staffwas super helpful and was patient with our large party and all of our questions and requests for tastings even on a busySaturday night. Oh and one of the best things was walking in and smelling the fresh waffle cones, which they must know peoplelove because you could buy a candle or spray with that scent! They even had their own ice cream cook book for sale. Overall, agreat place to visit for a unique dessert while on vacation! Read more

I've tried Salt & Straw in Cali before and remember it being good. So when I saw they had a location in Portland, I wanted to... have my husband try it too since he loves ice cream. We popped in on a Sunday at around noon. We shared a cup of roastedstrawberry & white chocolate with sprinkles. This was a little too sweet for me. They were also skimpy on the sprinkles. They dohave some pretty interesting flavors though - like honey lavender and strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper. I wish wetried one of those instead since they're more unique. Read more
