Maybe the best Khao Soi I've ever had. The food is as phenomenal as the restaraunt is unassuming. This is my new favorite... hole-in-the-wall in Portland Read more

I chose this Thai restaurant because it's between my home and work and I wanted to grab something for dinner on my way home and... it had 4.7 stars so I felt like I couldn't go wrong. Well, it did. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai for $15 with no spice and theShrimps in a Blanket. My pad Thai had six shrimp, the noodles were all cut very short so every bite was small, and it was sospicy that I couldn't bear to eat it and the few bites I did try made me sick. The Shrimp in a Blanket was very bland and theshrimp was way over cooked. My boyfriend ordered the Mussaman Curry with Medium spice and his was less spicy than mine somehow.$43 later and I have a stomach ache and have to find something else to eat for dinner. Very sad. Sa Bai cought my eye because it had good reviews, and I'm so glad I tried it! The location is an unassuming strip mall on the... outside but inside it had a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The service staff was very friendly and accommodating, andthe kitchen had our lunch out nice and quick. The salad rolls were delicious, made with fresh veggies and tasty chicken andserved with a savory peanut sauce which had just a little bit of spiciness to it. My Pad Thai was quite likely the best I'veever had! A generous amount of sauce with a nice tang to it surrounding perfectly cooked noodles and fresh crispy beansprouts. The portion sizes were big enough to bring leftovers home, which really helps with the overall value of eating out intoday's world of inflating prices. I'm definitely going back again, as there are lots of dishes on the menu that I will want totry! And, of course, they are trans friendly ?????????????? Read more

Don't be afraid of Thai Spice level. It doesn't hurt too bad. Good price and quality. Service is perfectly quiet but... attentive. I'd eat here every other day if able. Read more
